When I was asked to join a Vintage Valentine’s Day blog hop I thought, “what do I have that’s vintage”? I love stepping outside of my comfort zone, but vintage decor? I started searching for some inspiration and I found it! I decided to decorate my hutch for the hop. You know I love decorating my hutch since I gave it a makeover, it’s the perfect backdrop now that it’s white. You can go to the HUTCH MAKEOVER to see what my hutch looked like before.

Welcome, to all my first time visitors. If you are coming over from Larissa Welch House 1900 I am so glad you are here. I am in awe with her table and how she dressed it, I would love to pull up a chair and enjoy the beauty. 🙂 She also shares the true meaning of Valentines with all her vintage “LOVE” items. Today I am going to share my BINGO Vintage Valentine Hutch. I have it all ready to give you my interpretation of vintage charm.

I gathered up some real vintage bingo items. My husband and myself work once a month at the Knight’s of Columbus hall to work bingo. (Jim is a member of the Knight’s). When I was working last Friday night in the kitchen, I asked one of the members if the club had any old bingo cards that I could borrow. He said we sure do. I hit the jackpot and didn’t even play one game of bingo. 🙂 The Bingo cards and Bingo balls were purchased and used back in the 60s.
Let me take you closer to see my hutch and the little vintage vignettes I placed on it.
Since I am not a collector of vintage Valentine’s cards or Bingo cards, I printed off a couple to place in a few of my vignettes. I am sure my mom would remember using the Bingo cards, she (to me) is the ALL time Bingo Queen. I staggered the printed out Bingo cards and placed them in a heart card holder for display. I place two of my wooden ribbon spools, they remind me of being vintage. 🙂 Do you remember my Buffalo Plaid DIY bottle? I thought it would compliment the grouping. On the other side I placed the vintage Bingo balls in a couple of containers along with some vintage printed out Valentine cards.
Y’all know that I love using books in my vignettes. Low and behold I never realized I had a vintage book!
I opened it up and on the front page I found this.
The middle shelf I added a cloche with another printed out bingo card and valentine card that I combined into one little card. I added some scrabble letters spelling out Be Mine! Next to the cloche I added a little angel, which is normally in my flower bed. 🙂
In the center I printed out another little vintage Valentine post card and added it to a frame.
I bundled the bingo cards together and tied a red ribbon with a bow around them.
The bottom shelf I added more of the vintage Bingo balls in a bowl.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂

Thanks Shannon. I love red and black together. I had a lot of pink Valentine’s from years past but it was so fun decorating with red and black. I love the red with the white piece. You have a nice Valentine’s as well.
You did a lovely job. The vintage Bingo cards with the push over tabs brought back so many memories of playing Bingo with patients when I worked at NH Hospital (’73-’88). We had volunteers who helped. Instead of letting one pt. play 3 cards, I put her between 2 people that each needed help! Beginning of my energy conservation skills! I also got pretty good at reading numbers upside down! Loved the vintage Bingo balls; have never seen them like that!
Kathy, I remember going to our small town Homecomings where they played bingo. We use to use these cards too. My mom remembers playing with the old paper cards, then hard cards using chips, than magnetic chips then the slid cards and now back to paper with daubers. How things changes then come back around. My mom played it almost every night when I was a child so I really didn’t like the game because it took up my time with my mom, now I take her to bingo. Go figure! Carol I was thinking bingo balls would of been wooden. I only remember the colorful ones when I was smaller but for some reason I knew they use to be wooden. I want to start getting into a collection of something vintage. There are so many different things out there. I have to find what would be fun for me. I had to return the bingo cards. Can you believe they still play with them on Church functions. If only they new how old they are. ha!
Your hutch looks so pretty decorated for Valentine’s Day. My favorite part is the bingo balls in the glass container. Those are so neat and it’s great that you were able to borrow them to use for decor. I always get a kick out of driving past buildings where bingo is being held. It’s always packed! I’ve never played but I’ll bet that it is fun.
