For my craft today I am going to share how I made a Boho rainbow art canvas.  It’s an easy design, just a couple of horseshoe shapes that’s it.  Here’s how easy this craft was to make.

Supplies I used:

  • 11×14 canvas panel
  • pencil
  • small craft angle paint brush
  • craft paint (navy, pink, purple and caramel)

DIY BOHO RAINBOW ART

  • I made two lines this gave me a guide where my design should be.

  • I made four horseshoe shapes stacking them one on top of the other.  The rainbow stripes are ½ inch thick and I placed ½ of an inch space between each of them.

  • Taking Apple Barrel craft paint in the color midnight blue, I painted the largest horseshoe shape in the rainbow.

  • Next line I used Folk Art craft paint in the color Spring Rose.

  • Using Apple Barrel craft paint in the colors Classic Caramel and Lavender Sachet for the two inner shapes.
  • Using a new eraser I removed the two guide lines on my canvas.

It’s the look I want to add to our Master bedroom.   It isn’t perfect which makes it unique.

  1. What fun art project, Terrie! I love the colors you chose! This would be such a great project to do with my daughter for her dorm room. It was so much fun hopping with you! Happy Spring, my friend! Pinned!!

  2. Terrie, I love your artwork! Mounted in the frame and styled on your table, it looks like something you bought from a boutique. The colors you chose really capture the boho vibe, too. Thanks for sharing the great tutorial! Pinned 🙂

    1. Thank you Rebecca, I love the colors in our master bedroom so I color coordinated the art piece. One great thing about a DIY you can custom it to your liking. Thanks for pinning my friend.

  3. This makes me want to put paint to canvas. I’m not confident in my painting skills, but this is so doable so thanks for inspiring me Terrie!

  4. Terrie, this is so cute and so simple, my one granddaughter LOVES all forms of art and this might be something she could tackle! The colors you selected are soothing, not the traditional rainbow colors, it is nice!

    1. Thanks Chloe. I love the colors too, the true rainbow colors would not work in my home. The best thing about DIYs you can custom to your style. Happy Spring!

  5. This turned out great! It looks just like all of the expensive ones I see online. And it doesn’t look impossible. My kind of craft and a great tutorial. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Terrie, so much fun! A little over a year ago (pre pandemic), I took an acrylic painting class on canvas. It had been decades since I took an art class! Now I have all these paints and canvases and you’ve inspired me to get back to it.
