LAUNDRY ROOM TOUR

Hello Friends!  Welcome back to all my Decorate & More family. If you are visiting for the first time, thank you so much I hope you will continue to come visit me.

Well…I stayed up until wee hours of the morning to finish getting the new site looking halfway decent.  I still have a lot to do, but at least I am here!  I am going to like this new site, but right now it is complicated.  It is like when you get a new car you have to figure out where everything is and how it works.  One thing this doesn’t come with is a manual.  I have to find everything out by searching online or Q & A forum.  This is not what I call user friendly.  I will get there, but for now I just wanted to get the basic things up and all my past blogs transferred over.  I had to do that manually since they are different sites.

Enough about my silly blogging issues..you don’t want to read about that.  How are you this Friday?  It is a beautiful day, I hear birds chirping and the sun is out.  Feels like truly Fall weather today compared to the last few weeks.  Do you have big plans for the weekend?  Me, I am going to have a date with the garage and sorting and gathering things for our garage sale next weekend.  Doesn’t that sound like fun?  Do you have a certain technique for your set up on garage sales?  I would love to have any tips you can give me.  We have a system but I am all about improving.

Are you ready for the tour of our Laundry room?  So exciting…….NOT!  That probably is the last place you would want to tour, right?  I just wanted to give you the tour of our home…. and we have a laundry room.  I really don’t mind going into that room as long as I don’t see piles and piles of ironing. I like how I have my laundry room styled.  I even don’t mind doing laundry in the room.  Can you believe that?

Our laundry room is the first room you walk into when coming in from the garage.  We hardly ever use the front door, mostly the back door and the laundry room door.  That being said I like to keep that room tidy like the other parts of the house.  Our laundry room isn’t anything special and it isn’t a show case room.  The only thing that I would do differently (well there are several little things) is to put a sink in the room.  Don’t know why we didn’t do that.  OK let’s get started with the tour.

Since you are my guest, let’s enter into the laundry room from the garage like most of our guest that comes to visit.  You are no different…you my friend are my guest!

This is the view you will see right when you come in the laundry room from the garage.

The wall display you see first when entering is my laundry hamper that I painted white and added some paint to the wheat detail.  I purchased the shelf, the picture frame and the pails from Hobby Lobby.  The shelf was raw wood on clearance.  I painted that white.  I placed a decals on the pails to read; pins, coins and misc.  They are all functional and I do use them.  The picture in the frame is of washing machine symbols.  I found that online and printed it off. If you are wanting to print one out for yourself GO HERE  I took a piece of scrapbook paper and pasted the symbol printout on the paper to make it look like a matted frame.  I attached three little craft clothespins to the top of the print out and placed it in the frame.  The frame was on clearance also so I had to paint the frame white because it had a lot of scratches.  You can never tell it now.   That completed the look I wanted.

The back wall I placed a wall decal. I found the decal on Amazon. I tried to put something along that wall but when the washer door opens it won’t open all the way.

The cabinets I painted and glazed a couple of years ago.  They were the American Oak that we have in our Master Bathroom HERE.  I love the rod between the wall cabinets, it’s perfect for hanging clothes to dry.  The basket I keep up there to hold all my clothes that need to be ironed.

Here is my DIY lantern doesn’t it look nice?  If you missed the post about how to make a lantern out of picture frames that I purchased at the Dollar Tree GO HERE

For the door area, I found this valance and throw rug at Lowe’s.  I love the color and the pattern of them both together.

The last wall I just have a wall mounted entryway coat rack.  I painted and glazed it to match the cabinets.

Here is one last look at our laundry room before we end the tour.

Thank you for stopping by and doing the tour with me.  I hope you keep coming back and visiting with me.

Have a great weekend my friends!

Stay strong and stay blessed!

  1. It’s easy to see why you don’t mind doing laundry. It is a great laundry room. Pleasing to look at & room to move around in. Everything is so crisp, neat & organised… 😍
I like our laundry room ( we have a sink which is great for soaking out stains, cleaning shoes etc.) but it doesn’t have the floor space you have which is awesome.

    1. Thank you my sweet friend!
I appreciate your comment on it being so crisp and neat. I try my best! Sometimes it does get messy!

      Always!
