MY 2018 FALL TABLESCAPE

Hello everyone!

I am so excited to share with you today my 2018 Fall tablescape.  I decided to go with orange and gold in my dining room this year.  I am not a huge fan of pumpkin orange but adding some dry brushing over the top of the color helps tone down the brightness.

I have to admit that I just love working on a tablescape.  I guess it’s because I have more confidence working on a table setting than the fireplace mantel.  Isn’t that crazy?  Starting on something I feel more comfortable with seems to get my decorating juices flowing for the rest of the areas I need to decorate.

As always I will start with a bare table to give you a step by step tutorial on how I set my table.  If you have any questions please let me know, you can contact me by entering a comment below or you can email me HERE.  I will be happy to answer your question to the best of my knowledge.

Let’s get started!

One good tip is to pull the chairs away from the table so you have a walkway around the table.

I found this really cute table runner at Dollar General.  There are metallic gold threads woven in the runner that glistens when the light shines on it.  You can’t tell it in the photos how truly pretty it is.

I centered the table runner on my table.  I am happy with the length since the “Bless this Home” is at each end.

I purchased two paper mache pumpkins from Hobby Lobby.  (HERE)  I painted the two pumpkins orange, dry brushed on a cream color, dry brushed gold over the top of the cream and then I added gold leaf to the stems.

I placed the two pumpkins in the center of the table with one leaning on the other one.

I added some greenery.  The garland is from Hobby Lobby (HERE).

I laid the garland down the length of the runner.  You notice I didn’t lay it straight but gave it some movement.

I am adding some lighting to the garland with two strands of battery operated lights.  I purchased at Dollar Tree (HERE) last Christmas.

I hid the controls under the tilted pumpkin, I used two stands to go down each side of the pumpkins wrapping it in the garland.

I like the lights in the garland.

I will be using my 4 DIY chalk painted pumpkins next.  If you missed my white chalk painted Dollar Tree pumpkin tutorial you can check it out HERE.

I placed the white pumpkins two at each side.

Remember my thrift store candle sticks I found?  I am using all 6.  If you missed the blog about how I cleaned my brass candle sticks you can go HERE.

I placed three at each end of the setting.

I still can not believe that tomato juice cleaned the candle sticks.  Amazing!

The gold pumpkins are from Dollar Tree.  You can find them HERE.

I used three at each end.

Using two white pumpkins from the Dollar Tree and two gold acorns that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.

I paired them together and placed them on each side of the center pumpkins.

Thought the gold leaf clips would look nice in my arrangement.  I purchased from Dollar Tree (HERE).

I placed the leaves randomly in the garland.

Using my gold netting place mats I purchased at TjMaxx several years ago for my Christmas table.  The centerpiece is so heavy I thought a more airy place mat would balance it out better.

Pulling out 6 of my Dollar Tree gold chargers.  HERE in case you have not seen them at your Dollar Tree stores.

I am using my white Dollar Tree plates with a gold rim.   You might remember them from my Christmas tablescape last year.  You can go view my Christmas tablescape HERE.

I just love my DIY pumpkin napkin rings. 🙂  If you haven’t seen the tutorial on how I made the cute pumpkins you can go HERE.

I found the napkins at Pier 1 on clearance.  They are all sold out now, but  HERE are some similar.

Below is how I folded my napkins to fit into the pumpkin rings.

  1. Fold it diagonally
  2. Take each long corner and fold it into the center
  3. Gather it together
  4. Place it into the napkin ring

I sat the napkin and pumpkin on each plate.

Added my gold trim stemware and candles to the candle sticks.

To bring in a little color to the table I found little gold wire tealight holders at Dollar Tree.  I didn’t want to use them as tea lights, but as a little vase for flowers.

I removed the little tea light holder at the bottom and inserted a clear glass votive cup inside.  I placed some cut faux stems inside.  Sitting each one at the end of the arrangement.
