This tall table is for our back porch; it will serve as functional yet to be stylish as well. By combining materials I had on hand, I can easily build a trendy and budget-friendly piece that adds both practicality and charm to our porch.
Materials:
- Four (4) 40-inch hairpin legs with screws
- 2″ x 8″ x 46″ board
- paint or stain of your choice
Tools:
- Drill with drill bit
- Phillips screwdriver
- pen
For my table, I used a 2x8x46 board in our wood pile in the shed. The hairpin legs I ordered from Amazon, they sent me the wrong size, instead of sending them back they said keep them and turned around and sent me another set in the right size. They have been stored up in my attic.
Before you start putting your table together, prep your board, cut the board to the size you want and decide if you want to paint or stain your board.
Attaching your legs to the board.
Sit your leg to the corner on the back side of your board, mark the screw holds.
Pre-drill your holes where you marked. This will prevent the board from cracking and will be easier for you to fasten the screws into the board.
Do this step to the other three legs.
We are going to mount a TV to the brick wall above the table. I will wait until after the TV is mounted to make the decision if I want the top of the table painted or stained.
That’s it! How simple was this DIY???
I am still waiting for a few things to be delivered before I can share our back porch. In the meantime, I am on the hunt for two stools to place under the table for more seating.
Thanks for stopping to see how easy it was to build this tall table.
