Hello there! You know that I do a bunch of DIYs which means I use my hot glue gun A LOT! Even though the glue gun has it’s own little stand, you know it doesn’t really keep the gun standing. The worst part of working on a project is when you have hot glue melted all over your area and the gun won’t stand up. I finally did something to help my problem.
Do you remember my Thrift Store Challenge when I took the old heart shelf and made a cute little rustic shelf for my daughter? If you missed that makeover you can go ⇒Thrift Store Makeover. When I was cutting the shelf and saw the cut pieces, I knew right then what I was going to do with them.
See how my mind works? I am doing one project but always thinking about the next. 🙂
Now I know you won’t have the little pieces I used, so at the bottom of my post I will link a great DIY Glue Gun holder tutorial & will share a link where you can buy a hot glue holder.
Let me share how I made my little holder. Let’s get started!

The three pieces I had left over from the shelf.
I removed the nails and cut the larger piece to make it work better. I used wood screws and secured the two little pieces onto the larger board.
I added wood filler to all the seams and let that dry, sanded and took my Peacock blue chalk paint and gave it a quick coat of paint. I took an old ceramic coaster and my Power Grab, I glued the coaster to the base. Using something like the ceramic coaster will be easier to remove the dried up glue than the wood. I have it clamped until it dries.
When the paint and glue dried I took some sandpaper and gave it a little distressing.
Adding adhesive felt pads to the bottom. I purchased the Felt Pads from the Dollar Tree.
Taking an eye hook and placing that to one end of my holder.
I placed a hook screw to a shelf in my craft closet to hang my holder when I am not using it.
Now this might not be the cutest little holder, but for the materials I had on hand it works great.
Even for my little glue gun it works like a charm.
I am so excited about having a glue gun holder I am looking for a project to work on! 🙂
