Hey y’all! Are you ready for a bathroom makeover? I am taking you into our daughter’s Master bathroom today to show you what it looked like before and where we are today, now that the holidays are over we are back at it! 🙂
Room makeovers are my favorite kind of design project! I love the process of taking a space that’s outdated and transforming it into a beautiful space. I am hoping you like makeovers as much as I do. I’m sharing with you how we are changing this outdated bathroom into a modern rustic bathroom! Taking you step by step until the revealing.
I have linked all the products we used in my post. You can just click on the subject and it will take you right there.
You know my husband and I have been helping our daughter update her townhouse since she purchased it last fall. We started in the Master Suite. I have shared with you her Master bedroom where I painted the {{DIY WALL LATTICE PAINTING TECHNIQUE}}. I gave the ceiling fan a little makeover. You can see the post here {{CEILING FAN MAKEOVER }}. That’s really all the Master bedroom needed.
We are now in the Master bathroom. This room needs love in all sorts of ways. I will show you the before pictures and what we did to give it a rustic flare.
Here are the before pictures of the bathroom.

Starting with the cabinets.
We painted the cabinets white and distressed the edges. We used white {{ Kilz Chalk paint }} purchased at Walmart. We used {{ Medium Grit sand paper }} and distressed the edge of the cabinets, drawers and frame of the vanity. We applied two coats of {{Minwax Polycrylic Satin Sealer}} to the cabinet frame, doors and drawers.
We changed the handles with {{ Franklin Brass Bronze pulls }}. We purchased the handles on Amazon.
The opening where the vanity chair would sit she wanted shelving. We took a piece of trim and cut it to size and nailed it to each side of the cabinet and onto the back wall to support the shelf. We then cut a piece of plywood the size of the opening, painted it with chalk paint. We still need to attach the trim to the front of each shelf and add the rest of the handles to the doors. That will be on tomorrow’s to do list.
You might of notice the floor has been ripped up. We are replacing it with tile.
We painted the walls the same as the Master bedroom with Sherwood Williams; Perfect Greige and changed out the light fixtures with {{ Westinghouse Iron Hill }} also found on Amazon. We purchased {{ Vintage Edison LED light bulbs }} on Amazon as well.
We also changed the ceiling fixture.
We purchased a {{ Westinghouse Pendant }} that matches the vanity lights also found on Amazon.
We will be sharing with you the rest of the makeover as we go. I have a couple of DIYs coming up next. We will be adding a concrete overlay to the counter top and we will be framing out the white framed mirror. So please stay tune for more of this room’s makeover. 🙂

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
