A SIMPLE EVERYDAY WREATH

Hey, friends!  Thought I’d share the simple steps to making an everyday wreath I whipped up today. It really is so easy, and it doesn’t cost much to make. You’ll need a premade greenery wreath, stems or flowers of your choice and a pair of snips.

You can purchase a premade greenery wreath or you could make one by following my previous mixed greenery wreath tutorial here MIXED GREENERY WREATH.  I am already using my DIY mixed greenery wreath in my lantern.

So, I picked up a small FERN WREATH in Hobby Lobby when buying two COSMO SPRAYS to add to the wreath.  Hobby Lobby had all their florals 40% off last week, a great time to pick up floral items.

Start by removing the tag from the wreath.  Next, fluff out the greenery, I like to fluff out the greenery to evenly place the leaves.  This will give you a sense of where to place your flowers.

I like to add the main color flowers first.  I cut all the flowers, leaves and buds from the spray in to short stem pieces.

I love the beige color cosmos; they blend with the wood tones in our home.

I don’t use hot glue or wire when applying my flowers.  I use the stem of the flower sticking it in the grapevine wreath’s base.

Here are the positions I placed the beige cosmos to the wreath.

  1.  A large and small bloom on the outer part of the wreath at noon and 1 o’clock position.
  2.  A small bloom inside the wreath in between 2 and 3 o’clock.
  3.  A large bloom on the outer part of the wreath between 3 and 4 o’clock.
  4.  A large bloom in the center at 8 o’clock.
  5.  The left-over leaf part of the stem I placed them close to the blooms.

To add a touch of accent color to the wreath, I used the cream cosmos. I used one stem with three blooms on it.

Not letting the unused part of the stem go to waste, I added it to the vase in our master bedroom.

For the three cream blooms, I positioned them as below.

  1.  A small bloom at 2 o’clock.
  2.  A small bloom at 7 o’clock.
  3.  A large bloom at 10 o’clock.

I was going to place a small tan and white checked bow to the wreath, but I really like it just as it is up on the wall.

I hope this was helpful if you’re looking to do a quick and simple wreath! I love how the blooms of the cosmos are bundled in the greenery. They are my favorite stems at the moment!
