ADDITION TO THE LAUNDRY ROOM

Today I have a budget friendly project lined up for you, it is an Amazon countertop for your front load washer & dryer.  It’s actually not hard to put together, I am going to show you how and give you the link to this wonderful addition to my washer and dryer.

Amazon has several different styles and colors of washer and dryer countertops online.  For our laundry room, I went with OfficeSimpli Washer Dryer Countertop, it is made out of laminate, has edge rails and black in color.

Before I show you how easy it is to assemble the countertop, here is how the washer and dryer sits today.

The set doesn’t sit perfectly together and has about an 8-inch gap in the back of the machines, which allows clothing to fall behind the machines.  Not a fun process trying to get them out from behind them either.

I haven’t opened the box yet; this is how it was shipped to me.

The countertop only came in 4 pieces; a large piece and 3 railings.

It also came with 4 adhesive protective pads and wood screws.  It even came with its own screwdriver.

I placed the base on top of my kitchen breakfast bar to have an easier way to attach the pieces together.

To tell which is the bottom, the bottom of the countertop has drilled countersunk holes for the screw heads to avoid the screws to damage your surface.  I made sure to place the pieces accordingly.

I started all the screws in each hole before the point of the screw broke through the top.

I attached the back rail on first.  The railing has pilot holes to guide you to the perfect fit.

Then both of the sides.

Before I placed the protective pads on the bottom, I placed the countertop on top of the machines.

Houston, we have a problem!!

I marked where I need to modify to fit under the wall cabinet.  I took the rails off and cut to fit.

Added the rails back on and placed back on top of the machines to see if it fits.  Voila!

Took it off and placed the protective pads on the bottom and slid it back into place.

Not yet sure on how I will style it once my laundry room is complete with the refresh, but I added some cuteness to the top just for you!

If we lived in a perfect world, I would have the machine’s countertop match the cabinet’s countertop, but I don’t.  This black inexpensive countertop works for me and will help keep my clean folded laundry from falling in back of the machines.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I truly appreciate it.  I hope this gave you some inspiration for the top of your washer and dryer.  Next Friday, we will be back giving you a laundry room refresh, but for now, Happy Memorial weekend my friends!
