Hey there! Spring is in the air and so is the pollen. 🙁 Here in Alabama the first signs of spring is this yellow dust that covers just about everything. There is no need to clean and decorate outside until it settles, so for now I am bringing Spring into our Master bedroom. It has been awhile since I totally changed up the bedding. You know I love layers and could honestly scroll though Pinterest looking at beautiful bedding all day long. I want to share with you some refreshes I’ve made to our Master bedroom for spring! Layering with quilts, throws and pillows creates a comfy bed for any seasons.

Let me remind you of what our Master bedroom’s bedding looked like before.
Before I share my new bedding, I want to share a tip with you on how to inserting a comforter inside a duvet. The awful chore we face when we use a duvet. I finally found an easier method.
Here is my tip!
- First turn the duvet inside out and lay it on a flat surface. I am using my kitchen floor.
2. Lay your comforter on top of the duvet, making sure the ends are aligned with the duvet.
3. If your duvet comes with ties, tie your ends to the duvet, if not, I use safety pins and secured all the corners of the comforter to the duvet’s corner seams. I use the seams so the pin won’t show through the duvet.
4. Turn the duvet along with the pinned comforter outside in.
That’s it. Very easy.
Now, let me show you my new bedding!
I will add SHOP THIS LOOK at the bottom of my post.
This color scheme was inspired by my Top Shelf challenge framed art, I shared last month. You can check that blog out FIXED WHAT IS BROKEN.
Starting off with the two quilts. I didn’t want a heavy comforter and love the look of layers, (I said that already, hadn’t I)? They are very light in weight, the two together are still lighter than a comforter.
The gold quilt is a little larger in size than the white quilt which allows the gold to extend out a little more.
I tied the two colors together by this beautiful bedspread. I love the details and the scalloped edge it has. It would look great by itself on the bed, but I decided to fold it up and place it at the end of the bed.
Let’s talk about all the pillows. The three larger pillows are a burlap tweed. The tweed adds visual interest to the bedding.
I am using the shams from both quilts. I kept it simple by using the two quilted shams instead of the coordinated shams from the bedspread.
I saw the front texture pillow and fell in love with it. Keeping the other two pillows simple, I went with two white linen burlap trimmed pillow, I think they work perfect.
If you know me by now, you know I love having a tray on our bed. I brought in my round wooden tray and placed it nicely on top of a white knitted throw.
Don’t you just love the tulips? I am not a person that likes to have live plants in the house, so I order faux tulips, I was so excited when my order came in and saw how real they look.
Let’s talk about my book set! I order this from an Instagram friend. She has a shop on Etsy that has tons of different styles. I linked her Etsy shop below. She will custom your books with whatever saying you want on them. Always be kind is one of my favorites she has.
The tulips have a wire stem so you can bend them to whatever position you like. I placed them in this pretty little container. The pattern is on both sides.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
