We all picked a theme to make a gift basket to share some Christmas gift ideas.
The first thing when creating a gift basket is chose a theme. Choosing a theme is easier to buy your items for your basket. I went with the theme “Everything but the kitchen sink”. My inspiration was my handmade knitted dishcloths. Once I picked out my theme I started making a list of things I would see around a kitchen sink.
Here are the items you would need to make the same basket as the one I am sharing with you.
- basket
- basket filler
- shrink wrap bag
- garland ties –
- tissue paper
- thin ribbon
- wired ribbon
- scissors
- hairdryer
- 2 knitted dishcloths –
- 2 dish towels –
- Hand soap
- Dawn dish soap
- Handle sponge
- regular sponge
- tin of candy – Always nice to have a little chocolate after washing up the dishes! 🙂
Most of the items I placed in the basket were purchased from TjMaxx and Dollar Tree.
I added a piece of red tissue paper to the basket and then filled the basket with the basket filler.
I started filling the basket with my items. I rolled the dishcloths up and tied a red ribbon around both of them.
I like to add shrink wrap to the basket to keep everything tight in the basket.
- I centered the basket in the bag
- Tied a greenery strip around the opening to seal it closed
- Cut the excess top of the bag off
- Took the hairdryer to the bag to shrink the bag
I made a ribbon out of red wired ribbon. If you need to see my bow tutorial you can go {HERE} to see how I make my bows. I added the bow to the greenery tie.
Here is a couple looks of my finished gift basket along with everything I have inside the basket. I will be making a couple more of the gift baskets for my friends.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope my basket inspired you. I am sharing my Instagram friends photos here so you won’t miss all the inspiration! 🙂
