CHRISTMAS MAILBOX REVAMP

Do you have old Christmas décor you just put to the side year after year?  I am going to finally do something with my Christmas wooden mailbox, I purchased it decades ago and want to use it this year.  I am going to give it a new look.

Here is a photo of the mailbox when I brought it down from the attic.

I changed up the decorations four times since I bought it.  This year I am going to strip it all away.

I removed the top part of the mailbox.  It was held on by 4 little screws.  I removed the flag arm for now.

I sanded, cleaned it with a damp cloth and painted the mailbox Waverly chalk paint in Crimson.

Taking some White Waverly chalk paint and hand writing Santa and North Pole to both sides.  I also painted the top white to mimic snow.

I added some snowflakes to the sides and glitter to the top.

I had a vision that the mailbox was full of envelopes and was spilling out of the box.  To get that look I used a wire clothes hanger, straightening it out and hooked it to the mailbox door.

I made faux envelopes to Santa.

Using hot glue and my glue gun, I glued the envelopes to the wire and to each other.

I glued them all the way down to the ground.

I placed it next to the foyer tree.  I placed a little basket to catch all the envelopes.  What do you think?  Pretty neat!

I know you’re not going to have a mailbox like the one I shared, but the reason I am sharing my revamped Mailbox is to give you inspiration to take an old Christmas item you haven’t used in a while and revamp it to something you can use this year.  You just never know…..
