A COZY CHRISTMAS BEDROOM RETREAT

What a crazy Christmas season it has been!  Trying to decorate for the holiday, shopping for gifts and I haven’t even thought about cooking yet!!  So how perfect is today’s blog post?  I am sharing our Master bedroom Cozy Christmas retreat.  I have spent many of cozy nights watching Hallmark Christmas movies and actually still am here in this room.  The feel of Christmas is such a great feeling for me with the Christmas tree lights on and snuggled under a blanket.

A Cozy Christmas Master Bedroom

Do you have a Christmas tree in your bedroom?  I started putting one in our bedroom many years ago.   Years past I found myself in our bedroom watching Christmas movies while Mr. Tip and our son was watching sporting events in the Family room.  I thought why not have a tree to enjoy in our bedroom as well?  So that’s what I did.

The Christmas tree I have in our bedroom is something I created by taking two 5 foot Christmas trees turning them into one 8 foot tree.  Here is how I did it briefly; I put one of the 5 foot trees together minus the top part.  I removed the plug that connects the top part from the center pole and added the middle section of the second tree.  I added the topper to complete my tree.  It’s tall and slim which is perfect for the space I placed it.  We have plenty of walkway to get to our master bathroom.

As you can see I placed my DIY birch logs in the tree.  To see that tutorial blog you can click here ⇒ DIY BIRCH LOG.

Here are all my little Christmas vignettes I placed in the room.

Above the TV armoire.

On the chest of drawers.

I added a few Old Time Pottery’s stems inside the sleigh.

On each of the night tables I placed a lantern, inside a battery operated candle, greenery, piece of a cut branch and one pine cone.

I also added a Turkish hand towel and a 3 foot Christmas tree.

On the dresser I displayed my DIY Christmas floral arrangement with Old Time Pottery stems and bundles.  I placed two faux books with ribbon and greenery, do you notice my two thrift store candle holders I added red candles to them.

My Christmas Bedding

I kept my white bedding on our bed, I added a red duvet and a navy and white check quilt set.  I am using two red throw pillows for the red accent. To give a little more texture I placed a soft gold throw on the bed.

Instead of using the red shams that came with the red duvet, I am using two 18 inch red corduroy pillows.

Aren’t the two plaid Christmas pillows so cute?

Here is how I achieved the layer look of the quilt and duvet.   I took the navy and white check quilt cutting it in half, base stitch the raw edges with my sewing machine which gave me two pieces.  One under and the other piece in between the red duvet.   To avoid cutting, you could purchase two quilt sets.
