Welcome to my first Spring Cleaning post of 2024, I’m sharing how to clean wood cabinets. Our oak cabinets are 26 years old; I clean my cabinets every other month, so our cabinets are not too terribly dirty. I have always cleaned my cabinets and even our wood furniture with Murphy Oil Soap, it never seems to disappoint me.
Joining me on Spring Cleaning is my blogging friend, Tammy Patina and Paint, I will have her blog post down at the end of my post.
Steps on How to Clean Wood Cabinets
Step 1:
Vacuum the very top of your cabinets and the lower space between the bottom cabinets and floor. Wipe away any dirt and grease from the area.
Step 2:
Research the type of cleaner that is safe to use on your cabinets. Ours are solid oak, cleaning them with Murphy Oil Soap has kept our kitchen cabinets looking clean and shining as they did from day 1.
There is a concentrated spray in Murphy Oil Soap Spray as well, I use this for the quick cleaning on my cabinets.
Step 3:
- Mix 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of the oil soap into a gallon of warm water, the amount determined by the type of cleaning your cabinets need: mild or deep.
- With a microfiber cloth dampened in the oil soap solution, wipe the cabinets to remove any grime and grease.
- Buff lightly with a dry soft cloth.
Don’t forget to clean the hardware as well.
Feels so good to have the cabinets all cleaned on the inside as well as the outside. Next are the appliances, they are in need of a cleaning.
Don’t forget to stop over at Tammy’s home to see how she is cleaning her kitchen cabinets.
