Good Morning friends!
Have you ever read something and think, OK I wonder if this really work like they state it does? I was looking through a Martha Stewart Living magazine and came to this article of a Homemade floor cleaner. It says that it is safe for wood, ceramic, Prego and vinyl flooring. Hmmm! I wanted to check this out. I like my homemade kitchen cleaners that I have been using, so this might be another one to add to my cleaning.
Today’s blog I want to share with you my experiment on how well this homemade floor cleaner works on my kitchen vinyl flooring. Will it work or will it be a flop? I did a test a while back with a homemade cleaner to remove grease spots from linen napkins. If you missed that blog you can go HERE to check that out. I thought it would be fun to share this test out with you to see if it is a thumbs up or down.
Let’s get started!
The items the article said I would need are:
- 2-3 gallons of hot water
- 1/2 cup of cleaning vinegar
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda
- 1 tablespoon of BLUE Dawn (it notes-use the regular Dawn)
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice.
Mix everything together in your bucket. It smells really good. The article did say it will suds up, but not to worry it will not leave your floor streaky.
This is the mop I will be using on the floor. I like this mop because the mop head can be removed and tossed into the washer.
OK, here we go. Let’s see how this stuff works.
The water in the bucket has suds but when mopping the floor it didn’t leave suds, which surprised me. Didn’t leave streaks like I thought it would.
Letting it dry.
Here is the floor dry. It worked well just like the cleaners I have been using. The cost was great!
I am happy with it and it looks clean and smells fresh! It’s a thumbs up for me.
Thanks for stopping by here today. If you have tried the homemade floor cleaner let me know what you think. I am very happy on how it cleaned my floor.
