HOW TO CLEAN A BATHROOM EXHAUST FAN

Well friends here is another items that we might miss in our spring cleaning.  I have three in our home and today I am going to tackle cleaning our bathroom exhaust fans.

First thing I need to do is make sure I have my fan turned off.  To make 100% sure I cut the breaker to the bathroom off.

The type of fans we have do not need tools to remove the fan cover.  All I have to do is pull down gently.  There are two swing clips that will bring the fan cover down.

I just pinch the pins together and they will come off the track.

I took the vent cover and clean all the dust and dirt away.

While the vent is drying I cleaned the fan motor.

I took my soft bristle brush (I purchased mine at the Dollar Tree)you could use a vacuum with an attachment and clean the dust off the fan and track.   I used a brush to clean the first one it worked fine, but dust and lint went all over so the next two I used a vacuum.

I just dusted off the whole part.

Once I got the fan clean I placed the fan cover back on.  I just pinched the pins and hook back to the track.

I push up gently until it is flushed to the ceiling. Go turn the breaker on to the bathroom.  We are done!

I was amazed at how dusty mine were.  How about yours?  This cleaning took about 10 mins for each fan.  It was a very easy cleaning job at that!

I hope this cleaning tip was helpful to you and that you were able to clean yours with ease.  One more cleaning duty marked off our list!  One step closer to having a clean home.
