MY ORGANIZED WRAPPING STATION

Hey there!  Welcome to Decorate and More with Tip!  Here on my blog I share tips on how you can decorate your home on a budget by creating it from scratch, revamping, re-purposing or giving it a makeover with easy tutorials.  I hope I inspire you to create something beautiful for your home. 🙂

Before I give my craft room tour I wanted to share in detail my wrapping station.  This will come in handy during the Christmas season, I can’t wait!!  Although with this virus pandemic right now I am not too sure how much fun shopping will be.  Our daughter and I love to do our annual Black Friday shopping marathon.  We will have to change things up this year.  Anyhoo, I am ready to wrap gifts any time of the year.

Starting this project I knew I wanted to display my wrapping paper and hide all of my spools of ribbon.  Storing my ribbons would be a huge task since I have a tendency in picking up pretty ribbon for no apparent reason.  That being said, I needed something large enough to hold all of my wrapping supplies.  I found a two drawer wooden filing cabinet, I brought it home and painted it with Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore.

I place new pull handles and painted the lock plate metallic gold to match.

Do you want to take a look at my addiction,  I am going to share what’s inside the drawers.

In this drawer I placed all my gift bags, shrink gift bags, tissue paper and all my thin craft ribbon in Dollar Tree baskets.  Using the baskets keeps everything in it’s place.

I folded the tissue paper so it will fit nicely in the baskets.  In one basket I can store layers of spools of ribbon.

For all of my gift bags I placed them in the back of the drawer.

For my shrink bags I placed them to one side.

In the bottom drawer I place all my larger spools of ribbon in layers.  All my Christmas ribbons are stored away.  I will change out my ribbon when the season begins.

I added two Dollar Tree baskets to hold my bows and more of my craft ribbons.

With all my ribbon it’s hard to have it neatly organized, but I am happy with how I have it.

Let’s take a look at the top of my cabinet.

In the three glass containers I placed my washy tape, mini bows and paper filler.  I have bags of different colored fillers stored in my craft closet, I add the blue filler to go with the room’s color. 🙂

Behind the containers I placed a pail of colorful pens and my scissors.  Sitting next to the pail I placed my tape dispenser.

I placed all my greeting cards, double sided tapes, tags and my label maker in a wooden organizer.

To match the hardware I spray painted my twine spool metallic gold.  I placed it on the cabinet to grab when I need to tie a label onto a package.

Moving up on the wall, first you will see all my coronated colored gift bags and tissue paper.   I spray painted two wall mounted file organizers white and threaded a piece of ribbon through the holes where they can be stacked to one another.

I built a wall organizer to store my rolls of wrapping paper and curling ribbons.  As you can tell, I placed color coordinated paper and ribbon on my organizer.

For my extra wrapping paper I tucked in the corner.

I know I say this every time I share a piece of my craft room, but I am so happy to have this station in the room.  It is so nice having everything right there in one area and grab what I need.  My work station will be where I do all the wrapping. 🙂
