Welcome back into the kitchen, this will be the last Decorate with Me here in the kitchen. Monday, we will be sharing a tour of the kitchen before I move to another room or project. Tammy Patina and Paint will be sharing her countertops as well, I will be sharing her link at the bottom of my page.
I am so excited sharing how I styled our countertops with you; it feels so good to have the kitchen put back into an everyday setting. In this post I will be sharing some kitchen vignettes along with a small peg board styling as well. So, if you need some ideas on how you can style your countertops keep on reading!!
Kitchen Countertops Everyday Styling
Starting with our upper corner cabinet, I arranged my shelves into 3 sections. Let’s start at the top shelf working down to the bottom.
Since the space is deep and dark, I will be using white decor with a few colored pieces. I placed a square plate on an easel for a backdrop, placing white canisters to one side and a ginger jar and two other white pieces to the other side.
The middle shelf is where I added more colorful pieces. I found the two plates in Kirkland’s on a clearance shelf. The two house planters were found in Hobby Lobby. I added greenery and a white teapot which has been with me for several years.
The bottom of the cabinet is a small space which this bowl was a perfect fit and look for the space. And that will finish the corner cabinet.
Here is the final look of the cabinet.
Next, we will be moving over to the DIY SHAKER PEG RACK, first I will be placing a blue dishtowel to the last peg. I love the look of laying on the rack so to the towel I layered a knitted hot pad and an oven mit.
Working on the countertop now, I like adding a folded dish towel to the kitchen aide mixing bowl, to the backsplash next to the stove, I used 3 cutting boards layering them in different heights then placing my wooden utensils in a canister in front of them.
Now, to the other side of the stove I am placing 3 glass canisters with baking supplies. I used 2 wooden scoops and one blue teacup for a scoop.
To the corner I am adding my small lamp, which is a great night light by the way. To hide the cord, I placed a plant in front of the plug in, works perfectly. I also add a small ceramic tray with a creamer with small utensils tucked inside.
Creating a vignette to the center of the countertop with a cutting board tray.
This can be changed so easily with seasonal items, don’t you think?
To the end of the countertop, I added a cookbook easel and a vase.
Moving to the sink area, I love my towel ring and pedestal for the hand soap so this will stay the same, just adding a cute new dish towel.
To the other side of the sink, I kept my paper towel holder and Keurig in the same place.
On my lazy Susan double tray, I added 4 coffee mugs and a grouping of lamb’s tongue. Adding another coffee mug to the Keurig.
To store my tea bags, sweet-n-low and my A&W singles I placed 3 canisters on a cutting board.
To break up all the movement of the backsplash, I added a frame to it.
I found a lot of new items in Kirkland’s, Tj Maxx and Hobby Lobby. I will link as much as I can below for you. Hopefully, I gave you some inspiration on kitchen styling.
I have a video of me decorating our countertops on my social media, hope to see you there!
