Welcome back to the DIY Challenge, this month is a high-end dupe challenge, we will show you how we can recreate a high-end item for a lot less in price. At the bottom of my page, I will have all the other’s high-end dupes linked up for you.
For my high-end dupe, I am created three string frames which are inspired by Odella Wall Decor by Ashley.
So, if you want to know how I made my three frames please keep reading below.
How to Create String Art Frames
For my frames, I picked up three frames in Dollar Tree and nylon string we already had.
Using a putty knife, I pried the flowers off of the cardboard.
I painted two coats of the cardboard with blue craft paint.
I took a pencil and drew my pattern.
With hot glue and string, you could use any type of string, I am using nylon string because I have it on hand. Adding a very thin line of hot glue on the lines of my design and applying the string to the glue.
After I finished the pieces, I wasn’t happy how it looks with the blue backdrop, and the dingy string, so I took spray paint and gave them a coat of white Rust-oleum spray paint.
To hide the hot glue that seeped out from the string, I mixed white craft paint and baking soda together and applied one coat to the art.
A lot better.
Added a little grey to the frames with a baby wipe and chalk paint.
Add the string art to the frames and enjoy.
And there you have three frames using Dollar Tree frames and string/rope. The designs and color are all up to you because there are so many different choices you can do.
Here are the inspirational frames and my creation.
I hope you enjoyed my recreation; I placed the three frames in our guest bedroom I shared here yesterday.
