DIY DOLLAR TREE RIBBON PUMPKIN

Hello everyone!

Today’s blog I am going to take a Dollar Tree pumpkin, ribbon and show you how I made a beautiful pumpkin decor.

You have seen this pumpkin, right?

You will need:

  • Dollar Tree pumpkin
  • 1 roll of ribbon
  • twine
  • hot glue and glue sticks
  • scissors
  • ruler
  • brown card stock
  • twig pick
  • spray paint or chalk paint the color of your ribbon

Let’s get started!

Take you pumpkin remove the stem and paint it.  I am painting mine an ocean mist to match the green ribbon from Dollar Tree.

Let the painted pumpkin dry.  When it dried I grabbed my ribbon and cut it in 10 inch strips. I cut all the ribbon.

Punch a larger whole where the stem came off.

Place some glue in the opening large enough that you can tuck the ribbon inside of it.

Add glue to the opening.

Take a strip of ribbon and tuck it in the opening where you just applied the glue.

Pull it tightly to the bottom and glue in place.

Continue wrapping the ribbon.

Take the spool that the ribbon came off of and remove the end round piece.  Cut a piece of your card stock the size of the end piece.

Glue the pieces together.

Glue the piece to the bottom of the pumpkin for a sturdier base.

Take the roll part of the ribbon and some twine.  I used this for the stem of the pumpkin.  Cut it the size you want.  Glue the end of the twine to the spool.

Keep wrapping the twine around until it is completely covered, cut the twine and glue down.

Take some twine and wrap it around your four fingers and tie together.

Cut one end of the bundle.

Add some hot glue to one end of your wrapped spool and tuck the cut bundle inside.

I am using a cork screw pick and some cut out leaves.  I placed all on top of my DIY ribbon pumpkin.

Thank you for stopping!  I hope I shared some inspiration with you and that you think outside the box when you start to decorate your Dollar Tree pumpkin.
