Happy Friday!  Are y’all ready for a fun full weekend?  I have an extra day this weekend,  Mr. Tip and I don’t have plans, but we want to get things tidied up around the outside of our home.  Today, I have the house to myself so I plan on cleaning and Fall decorating.  What are your plans for the holiday weekend?  Whatever it is have fun and be safe.

I was asked by Emily over at LeCultivateur and Tara over at Stilettos and Shiplap to join in their 5 on Friday ~ 5 Fall DIYs.  I was excited they ask and also excited to join in the fun.   I will link Emily and Tara’s blog links at the bottom of my page.  I am just as excited as you are to see what they have to share with us.

First, I had to figure out what 5 DIYs to share with you.  As I was searching for some inspiration I was munching on Candy Corn, my favorite of all time Fall candies.  Anyhoo….that gave me an idea.  I am going to share some Candy Corn décor DIYs.  So here we go……

# 1  DIY Wooden Candy Corn Decor

This was such an easy DIY.  It has 3 steps, that’s it.  Here is how I made my wooden candy corns.

Supplies I used

•  1×4 piece of wood
• circular saw
• sand paper
• orange, yellow and white paint
• painter tape (optional)

Directions:

1.  Draw the triangles.  I measured my triangles bottom part 4 inches.
2. Cut on the lines with a circular saw
3. Sanded the edges
4. I made three lines to make the Candy Corn pattern.  (I used painters tape to keep a nice line)
5. I painted 3 coats

#2 Wood Beaded Garland

Y’all know I have several beads from my daughter’s light fixture.  I thought I would use a couple on a wood beaded garland.  This was so much fun.  When stringing the beads it reminded me of those learning tools I use to do when in Kindergarten.  Am I the only one remembers those things?

Here are the items I used:

• 24 ~ 1 inch wooden beads
• wooden tag
• 2 small wooden leaves
• jute twine
• orange, yellow and white paint
• scissors
• black sharpie

Directions:

1. Paint the beads (8 yellow ~ 8 orange ~ 8 white)
2. Thread the beads with jute twine  (I taped one end to make it easier to thread)
3. paint the wooden tag white
4. print out the saying from Microsoft Word
5. shade the back of the saying with a pencil
6. trace the wording on the tag
7. use a black sharpie and trace over wording
8. make two small candy corns on the bottom of your tag and color in
9. tie the tag on one end of the garland
10. Make a twine tassel and tie on to the other end of the garland
11. add 2 small wooden decorative leaves to the tassel side of the garland

# 3 Candy Sconce

This was so simple. 🙂

Here is what I used

• Dollar Tree glass candlestick
• Dollar Tree votive glass
• E6000 or Hot glue

Directions:

Add glue to the top of the candlestick and add the votive glass.  Add some Candy Corn Candies.

#4 Candy Corn Sign

This took a little more time, but it was fun.  I freehanded my sign, you could use a stencil or some stickers, it would be easier.

Here are the items I used.

• 3×5 Dollar Tree canvas board
• orange, yellow, white and black chalk paint
• 1 piece of Dollar Tree Tumbling Tower game piece

Directions:

1. paint the canvas black
2. free handed my three larger candy corn pictures.
3. free handed the words
4. painted the letters white
5. painted the candy corn
6. added glue to the game piece and attach it to the back bottom frame of your canvas (this will be a stand for your sign)
7. Paint the game piece black

#5 Create a Candy Corn Tray Vignette

Now that we have our items made, lets style the items in a cute little vignette.

Directions:

1. Add a base to house all your cute items.  I am using a white tray.

2. Add some layers to your base.

3.  Add height

4.  Adding texture

6.  Add in the fillers

Isn’t this the cutest vignette?  My favorite candies and my favorite little Fall tray vignette so far.  Love it !!
