NURSERY & BATHROOM PROJECT

Another project over at our daughter’s home.  We are going to transform one of her spare bedrooms into a nursery.  This bedroom has it’s own full bath.  We are going to tackle the bath as well.

You might not need inspiration on a nursery, but maybe you can get inspired with something we do in the rooms.  You never know, plus it might just be fun following me on this project.

Here is what the bedroom looks like now.

Our plans for the nursery

#1 The color scheme for both rooms

Blush – Gold – White – Wicker baskets

#2 Paint all the furniture white

Replacing the baby crib with a gold frame and white upholstery side panels.

#3 Changing the hardware to gold.

#4  Paint the walls

We are going to give the walls a fresh coat of white paint.  When shopping at the Habitat Restore one day I found recycled paint.  I grabbed a 5 gallon bucket of white paint for a great price.

#5 Creating a focal wall

Adding a bold print wallpaper to one of the walls.

#6 Change  the Light Fixture

In the room we have a white ceiling fan.

I went to the Habitat Restore and found this light fixture.  How perfect is this??

#7 Shampoo the bedroom carpet

We have used this room as a catch all while working on other parts of her home.  With a new baby on the way it’s a must to shampoo the carpet.

Our Plans for the Bathroom

#1 Give the vanity area a new look

  1. New vanity top
  2. New faucet
  3. Paint the cabinet white
  4. Replace the mirror
  5. Replace the light fixture

  • The old vanity top will be replaced with a white vanity top.

  • The cabinet will be painted white with gold handles.

  • Changing out the mirror with a round mirror trimmed in gold

  • Changing light fixture

  • Changing out the faucet

#2 Change the bathtub and shower faucet

#3 Paint the walls a crisp white

#4 Change the flooring

Ripping the vinyl from the floor and replacing it with a white and gold marble porcelain tile.

#5 Replacing the air vent with a white vent.

We have started the process.  Here is what we have done already….

  • We removed the vinyl from the floor and place the cement board

  • Removed the mirror and vanity top

Isn’t the wallpaper behind the mirror just lovely? 🙂

  • Primed the cabinet

We have a lot to do and only the weekends to do it.  We continue to get things done and will keep you posted through out the project.
