Hello my dear friends! It is Thursday evening and I don’t work tomorrow, I am so happy to start my weekend. Do you all have big plans for the weekend? I think I am going to drag my old fall decorations down from the attic and start painting my orange pumpkins, white. I just love the look of white pumpkins this year. All the posts I see of the fall décor are with white and different colored pumpkins. I just love the look. (I think I said that already.) It isn’t natural though, pumpkins are traditionally orange! The true orange pumpkins are pretty, but they wouldn’t go with my home décor at the moment. One good thing about paint….you can make anything your color theme. Have you seen photos of white and a blue pumpkins? Oh how pretty. Here is a photo just in case you hadn’t.
Isn’t that pretty? I never thought that there were blue pumpkins. I honestly thought they were painted. They are Blue Jarrahdale and are real. WOW! I did not know that. Did anyone know that? Just so stinking cute.
OK, I got side tracked? Let’s get back to the “Show me” series. This week will be how we display our coffee area in the kitchen. So…show me your coffee area and I will show you mine. If you are like most people you would have a coffee maker or a Keurig sitting on your countertop. Or if you are a heavy coffee drinker, you might have a coffee bar or station in your kitchen. Me, I don’t like coffee. Love the smell of it, but hate the taste. My husband is the only coffee drinker in our house. I have a section on my kitchen counter that I guess, you can say it is somewhat of a coffee station. We have three types of coffee makers. (that’s crazy for only one person that likes coffee, I know) We have a small 4 cup maker that we had use before we got the Keurig. It is up in our pantry. We hate to get rid of it, so I just put it on a shelf in our pantry. We also have a 12 cup coffee maker that I have in a cabinet for when we have a group of people over and serve coffee. And we have the Keurig that sits out all the time on our countertop. In the cooler months I do like to fix hot chocolate and when I am not feeling all that great I will fix me a cup of hot tea. My husband will have one large cup of coffee in the morning when he is not working and uses the Keurig. With just that one cup, the Keurig is the perfect thing to use. Here is how I have my coffee area set up in my kitchen, at the moment. I placed the Keurig in the corner so I can hide the cords. Another thing about me is that I don’t like any cords to be seen. I just can’t handle them in my view. I will try my hardest to make them less obvious. When our Keurig is not being used I like to sit a pretty coffee mug on the drip tray. I just think it looks more, what’s the word I want to use? Finished….cute….silly? Whatever! ha!
I have a small surge protector behind the Keurig and the cord runs along the back wall of the breakfast bar, it goes behind the mail bin. The best way I could make it less noticeable.
I have a coffee canister that I place a small amount of coffee in. Even though we have K pods, my husband sometimes likes to use the reusable solofill cup. I like to keep the coffee handy for him when he does. I normally keep our coffee in the freezer to keep fresh since he only drinks his coffee on the weekends.
I placed a little wooden sign in the setting just because I love the little saying. I totally agree with the saying. Don’t you?
Next to that I used a silver candlestick and I placed a topiary greenery ball on top instead of a candle. I use a lot of greenery or flowers around my house. It just gives it that extra something.
In front of the candlestick I have a cream and sugar canisters sitting on a small tray. My husband is a cream and sugar type of coffee drinker. He uses the powder creamer which is great that I can store that along with the sugar to make it easy for him to fix his coffee. As you can see, I am all about making it easy for my loving husband. Besides undressing the bed at night. If you read how my husband has to take the bedding off before bed, you might think differently. If you hadn’t read that yet and want to, go to the Master bedroom tour and read my blog. click here
I had a large apothecary jar that I placed some treats in for easy (theres that word again…EASY) to grab on the go. I tend to be the one using that part of the coffee station.
Next to the Fiber One jar I have a paper towel holder that a friend purchase for me. It is made out of a concrete paver, steel rod and a metal topper that comes off so you can remove the paper towel roll. It had 4 little knobs at the bottom, it looked better with them on, but my space between the countertop and cabinets was not tall enough. I had to remove them in order to fit under my cabinet. I did place some soft felt on the bottom so it wouldn’t scratch my countertop. Next to the sink I have a little round container with a scrub brush. That thing gets used a lot. From cleaning corn on the cob to potatoes. That is my veggie brush doesn’t get used for anything else.
The bottom cabinet drawer is where I store all the Keurig K pods. I have coffee, tea, hot chocolate and some apple cider for anyone to drink. I purchased some plastic divider containers at the Dollar Tree to keep them organized. Also, we store all of our phone charges in that drawer too in their own divider. I am one of the lucky ones that has enough space to hold the coffee pods next to our coffee set up. I have a carousel pod holder that I used before, but it is tucked in a closet. The drawer seems to work better for us.
Here is one more last look at our coffee area.
I sure hope you enjoyed my view of our coffee area. Maybe it will give you some ideas on how to change your area around. Love you all! Have a wonderful weekend!
Stay strong and stay blessed!

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
