Hello and welcome! Welcome, to all my first time visitors. Are you ready for some Valentine’s decor inspiration? I am joining 11 talented bloggers in a Pinterest Inspiration Challenge. We took one Pinterest Post to recreate with our own style. I linked all of my friend’s blogs at the end of my page. I hope you enjoy and get inspired.
Like many of us, we go to Pinterest, Instagram or other places to get inspired. They are all great places to motivate us, but we shouldn’t just pin or save them, but to act on the idea. So we decided to share with you how we created a Pinterest post. 🙂
Here is the inspirational post we took from Pinterest. It was created by Christina from The DIY Mommy.
Here is my take on the Pinterest Post.

Here are the items I used for my wreath:
- 1 Dollar Tree Floral Garden Heart-Shaped Metal Wreath Rings, 12 in.
- 4 packages of the 24 count Dollar Tree Red Heart-Shaped Paper Doilies
- glue gun and a lot of glue sticks
- ribbon
- Dollar Tree small piece of Foam Board or a piece of stiff cardboard
- 1 piece of Scrap-booking paper (of your choice)
- Chalk Pin or white paint.
- Scissors
- Staple gun and staples
- Mod Podge and paint brush
- Pen or pencil
Let’s get started!
Making the heart sign
- Take the foam board or cardboard
- one paper heart
- pencil
- scissors
Place the paper heart on the foam board and trace around the heart.
covering your heart foam board.
- scrap-book paper
- pencil
- scissors
- your foam board heart
Place the paper with the pattern side down. Lay the foam board heart on the back side of your scrap-book paper and trace around the heart. *Note give yourself about 1/2 inch space around the heart when placing it on the scrap-book paper.
Draw another line about 1/2 inch from the edge of the heart and cut out on the outer line.
add the scrap-book paper to the foam board.
- foam board heart
- heart scrap-book paper
- mod podge
- paint brush
- scissors
Apply mod podge to the back of your scrap-book page heart
Glue the paper onto the foam board heart, keeping it in the inner heart.
Cut slits along the outer heart with your scissors about every 2 inches or so.
Press over the cut parts to the back of the heart. Reapply mod podge if needed.
Folding over the paper gives the heart a finished edge.
adding words to your heart sign
- chalk pen or paint
- your favorite words
Write your wording onto your heart.
wreath
You will need:
- wire heart form
- 4 packs of 24 paper hearts (I used all 96 hearts)
- stapler and staples
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- your heart word sign
To make the paper folded hearts
Take one paper heart and start to gather.
Gather the heart together pinching it in the center
Fold up the bottom part to meet the top part.
Pinch together.
Staple the end.
This is what it should look like.
Place the heart sign where you want it to be placed on the wire foam. I am placing it at the left corner of mine.
To add the folded hearts to the wire frame
On the frame you will want to apply two folded hearts to each side of the wire.
Taking my hot glue and applying glue to one side where the staple is and wrap it around the wire.
Taking another folded heart gluing it over the one you just placed and pinch the two together, carefully, don’t burn yourself.
Before I started filling in my wire wreath I placed a folded heart at the top and the bottom of my heart sign to mark the spot that I do not want to fill in.
I removed my sign and started filling in the wreath.
If you notice a hole in your wreath just add a folded heart. I glued both sides where the staple is and fit it in the hole.
Keep filling until you get to the mark you made.
Adding the sign to your heart wreath
Place the sign on the heart wreath and careful turn over the wreath and hot glue the heart to the wire frame.
I added a bow with several different ribbons and placed it at the bottom part of the heart. I gave a tutorial on how I make my bows. You can check that out here ⇒ {{ BOWS }}.
I know it seems like a lot of steps, but once you start it truly doesn’t seem long at all. I love my Pinterest inspirational wreath.
