Welcome back to my Patriotic inspirational DIYs that I am sharing for the upcoming holiday. Today I am sharing a Patriotic wreath for my HOME wall décor. If you are new and never seen my DIY HOME WALL DECOR go check it out. You know I love changing out the wreath in the piece. I could use the one I made last July 4th, but that wouldn’t be much fun, now would it? So let’s have some fun and make a new one!

You will also need:
- hot glue gun
- scissors
- paint
Let’s get started!
I took my foam wreath form and wrapped the ribbon around the entire wreath.
Dab some hot glue and attach the ribbon’s end. Wrapping it around the wreath when you come to the end hot glue the end to the wreath.
I took one of the Dollar Tree stars I had last year and painted it a rust color. I made the rust color paint by adding red and a dab of black. I painted the star.
I wanted to hide the little holes that the chain went into. I used a piece of painters tape and placed it on the back of the hole.
While my star is drying lets start on the wreath. Take the flag off the plastic rod and cut the white rod pocket off.
Taking the flag and attaching it to the wreath.
Starting with the side you just cut the rod pocket from. Gather or pleat the blue star part on your wreath. Starting at the 10 o’clock position.
Do the same with the red and white stripes.
Gathering and pulling the flag to the 4 o’clock position.
While holding the flag in that position turn the wreath over and add some hot glue to secure the flag onto the wreath.
Loop the end of the flag around the wreath one time.
Turn the wreath over and add some hot glue to secure the end of the flag to the wreath.
I took some raffia and tied the top together with a piece of raffia.
I lifted up the flag on top of the tail, added some hot glue and stuck the raffia inside.
Now hot glue the star onto the wreath.
I don’t like how the edges were on the side of the wreath. I took pieces of ribbon, fold one end and hot glued it on the edges of the flag. It look as if it is coming out of the burlap. Much better!
I just hot glued down the other end to the wreath.
And that’s it. This is going up on my HOME décor wall when I get home. Isn’t she lovely? Now you will have that song on your mind all day. ha!
For my friends who love this wreath but would rather buy instead of making it. I found a larger one similar to mine HERE.
