How to decorate a lantern for Christmas
I gathered up some items for my lanterns, starting with my larger lantern.
To hang a snowflake to the back of the lantern; I used a piece of floral wire, thread it through the top and wrapped it around the spinal.
I added a 12-inch table top Christmas tree decor in the back to one side of the lantern.
Next, I added Santa next to the tree.
Adding two more smaller trees inside the lantern as well, one behind and one to the side of Santa.
I placed a strand of battery-operated lights to the trees. I thread the lights through the top of the lantern wrapping around each tree.
To give the look of a snowy ground, I added some fake snow to the bottom of the lantern.
I added a pinecone, evergreen twig and berries to the snow for decorations.
To hide all the wires, I placed on top of the lantern, I placed greenery, berries, a red hydrangea and a bow.
This lantern couldn’t be any cuter!
Now let’s decorate the smaller lantern. I added a candle holder with a bow and to the bottom added fake snow and decorations as well. On top I added a bow.
I just love how the lanterns look all dressed up for Christmas!

Oh my gosh! Gorgeous! I’m going to have to make a couple of these!
I think I had more fun creating them more so than the kiddos will when unwrapping them. Thanks for inviting me to this hop, it was so fun.
This is beautiful!! Your lanterns are always so pretty, but I think this has been my favorite so far.

Terrie, your lanterns are so pretty. I love that the door opens on the side ~ makes it easier for decorating. I have three lanterns and they all open from the top. Thanks for the inspiration. And thanks thanks you for hosting every month. Merry Christmas.
I have lanterns that open from the top, not as friendly to decorate but I love any type of lanterns. 🙂
Thanks, Carol for your sweet comment. Happy Holiday to you my friend.
