Hello there!
Today we are going to be putting together these cute little faux fur gift boxes. These are so cute and can be placed anywhere in your home. I spotted the {{Faux Fur Gift Box Decor}} on Etsy, right away I wondered if I could make these. Yep! They are all over You-tube. So I went to the Dollar Tree, gathered up my material and started working on this little beauty.
Here is my inspiration. I didn’t spend near what they are listed at.
The supplies you will be needing are:
- small Gift boxes (I purchased mine from the Dollar Tree)
- 2 super soft microfiber cloths found at the Dollar Tree in the Automotive section
- pen
- ruler
- scissors
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- ribbon
- embellishments
First step is to grab your microfiber cloth (our faux fur), spreading it out on your work area.
To make your pattern: (seems complicated… it’s not at all)
Take your box and place it on a corner of the cloth. You want the corner to have enough space for each side of the cloth to reach the top of the box.
Mark a little dot where you box is, stand the box on its side making sure you keep the box on the dot you just marked.
Take you pen and draw around the box
From the line you just made lay the box down on the line and draw around the box again
Staying in line bring the box back to its side. Place it next to the line you just made.
One more time place the box flat and trace around the box.
Your pattern should look like this. I cut the unused portion off for my next box.
Now we will mark the sides of the pattern. Place your box on the longest side against the long lines and trace the box all the way down the pattern. Do this to both side.
After marking the sides, I placed an “X” on the places you will need to cut away. I will tell you why I did that down farther.
Cutting the pattern out on the lines. Where you see X you will cut those off the pattern.
Your cut out pattern should look like this.
Take you box and lay it upside down on drawn up part facing up.
Take your hot glue gun and apply some glue to the edge of the box.
Take the small piece up and over the edge of the box.
Turning the box upright with the cloth on top, start gluing the cloth to the top in small sections at a time. Making sure you stretch it tight as you glue.
Glue the other end and bottom the same way as we did the top and first side.
Cutting any excess edge off the end.
Glue down neatly.
Glue both sides down making sure everything is covered. You might have to stretch it a little to get it to cover. I applied glue to the corners to seal it nicely.
I made two more boxes just like this.
I hot glue the three packages together to keep them together.
Grabbing ribbon and embellishments to decorate my packages. This is where you can be creative. I wrapped my thick wired ribbon around my packages using hot glue to secure them. I used the scissors to press the ribbon together to avoid burning my fingers.
I took gold diamond wrap ribbon (found at Dollar Tree) over the top of the thicker ribbon.
I added two gold ornaments to a gold string gluing that before placing a bow and greenery to the top of the package.
I know it deems like a lot of steps, but honestly it wasn’t hard at all.
I am styling my little faux gift boxes by my DIY painted fabric chair in the Family Room.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
I love the way the white fur boxes reminds me of fluffy white snow and then wrapped with your pretty mauve colored ribbon and with that throw, it goes with your whole Christmas scheme so well! Beautiful Terrie!
