Happy Tuesday friends!
Today I have a very easy DIY project to share with you! Spring is here regardless of what the weather is doing outside. I have been so busy cleaning, I realized I have no touch of spring anywhere in my home. I need to work on this!
As I was looking on Pinterest for inspiration I found this bird frame and thought….I could make it! I started gathering the supplies. This is such an easy project. If you have everything on hand it wouldn’t cost you a thing. Very affordable!
Let’s get started!
Items you will need:
- 8×10 picture frame
- 2 pieces of scrap paper
- bird silhouette (I have the one I used below)
- scissors
- hot glue and glue sticks
- a small branch
- regular glue
- pencil
Here is the silhouette that I used. I found this on google and printed it off. If you like this you could click on the bird and then right click SAVE IMAGE AS to your computer and then print it off.
- First step was to cut the bird silhouette. I cut around the feet not using the branch part.
- Place on the scrap paper and trace around the bird pattern.
- I cut the pattern out.
- Take your frame, remove the backing, insert and glass.
- Cut your other piece of scrap paper the size of the frame insert.
- Place the piece of scrap paper, glass and the backing into the frame. (Note: put the scrap paper first and then the glass).
- Glue the bird onto the paper in the frame.
- I wanted the branch to be close to the bird’s feet so it looks like the bird is perched on the branch.
- Hot glue the branch on the frame.
- Dab a little hot glue just enough to secure
- Apply a little glue on the paper to secure the branch.
That’s it. Here is what it looks like.
I placed this DIY spring frame on my mantel. I think that gives it just a little touch of spring, don’t you?
I hope you enjoyed this little DIY. It was fun to make and so cute on my mantel.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
That is very cute , Terrie !!
You are so good at doing these things. Of course I love birds ,too !!
I thought I would get started next week doing my spring cleaning. I think I get to have Kate and Owen on Thursday. School lets out tomorrow at 2 p.m. for Easter break. I don’t see them much with school .
Love you and have a blessed day !!
We are getting quite a bit of rain so the grass will be shooting up !!
Thank you! I hope you have a great day, stay in where it is dry. Can’t wait until we see green grass.
