Hey there! Welcome to Decorate and More with Tip! Today’s the 10 on the 10th Blog Hop, this month we are sharing inspiration for either a Summer or Patriotic theme! I am joining 7 talented bloggers to share what we created for $10 or less. At the bottom of my page I will have all of the participant’s links for you.
Two month’s ago on the 10 on the 10th I shared my lady bug wreath, I guess you can say, you can easily make cute wreaths for under $10. As per my wreath tutorials below, you can make some really cute wreaths for $10 or less.

Here are some of my tips on keeping wreath making afforable.
- Grapevine wreath – one great reason on using a grapevine wreath is it can be use over and over again. They are an inexpensive wreath base and can be found in many craft stores under $5, here are some examples: Hobby Lobby – Walmart – Joann Fabrics
Here are a few of my favorite greenery stems I use for my grapevine wreaths. Stems can be securely placed into the wreath where glue is not needed.
- Boxwood stems – Walmart – Hobby Lobby – Amazon
- Fiscus branch – Walmart – Hobby Lobby – Amazon
- Eucalyptus stems – Walmart – Hobby Lobby – Amazon
- Fern stems – Walmart – Hobby Lobby – Amazon
Lavender & Hydrangea Wreath Tutorial
With the basic wreath supplies I shared above, I am going to make a summer wreath.
Here are the supplies I am using for my wreath today.
- 4 Dollar Tree hydrangea stems
- 2 Dollar Tree lavender stems
- a couple leaves of a leaf bundle
- floral tape
- wire snips
- 18″ grapevine wreath
- all the greenery I mentioned above
Start out with your grapevine wreath and the fiscus branches, sticking them in the wreath.
Next adding fern leaves.
To form a large hydrangea with the Dollar Tree bundle, I placed the whole stems together. To see the tutorial click here → DOLLAR TREE HYDRANGEA
Place the three hydrangeas, at 1 o’clock, 6 o’clock and 10 o’clock position.
Taking two bundles of Dollar Tree lavender picks, cutting them off the stem, adding them to the wreath.
I like to add different textures and colors of greenery. Adding boxwood stems, leaves and eucalyptus to the wreath.
I grabbed a pick that I had used on a project for the back porch. I placed what was left of it in the wreath.
Also, the 4th hydrangea pick placed them singly in the wreath
It will look so pretty up on our front door, however I will not be sharing that today. Come back tomorrow when I share the “One Room at a Time | Summer Porch Reveal”.
I found one similar online, look at the cost of the one from Secret Blooms.
Making my own, was a huge savings.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
Beautiful wreath, Terrie! It’s amazing how DIY dollar tree wreaths can look just as good as the $140 one you listed. Who on earth would pay that amount lol? Great job on your budget-friendly summer wreath!
Thanks Allyson, Dollar Tree has really stepped up on the quality of their flowers, some are still not so pretty but some are. I know, I would have a hard time paying that price when I know I can make them for much less.
So pretty, Terrie!!! I love your wreath and it is sooo easy to make. I’m usually glueing things on wreaths or wiring them around the base; this is way easier. 🙂 I might copy your wreath exactly (have most of the florals here!) and put up for the rest of summer. Time for a change. 😀
Enjoy your pretty wreath and I’ll have to check out your porch tomorrow,
Hugs,
Barb 🙂
I would be honored if you make a wreath like mine. I love how it looks up on our door. Hope you have a wonderful summer Barb!
Terrie: Your wreath is just beautiful. Love the hydrangea picks. You know I take my wreath inspirations from you. I will be looking for a grapevine wreath once my current Patriotic wreath is put away! Lauren
You are so sweet Lauren. If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, wait until they run 50% off and you can get two for the price of one, since you have two doors. I am loving your wreaths you share with me. You are giving me a run for the money! 🙂
That’s so pretty! I can’t wait to see your porch reveal.
Thank you Michelle. I hope you are enjoying your projects in your new home.
Love it Terrie! You know I love lavender. Lavender and greens are a perfect marriage.
Thank you Cindy. I am loving the lavender this year.
As always Terrie, This is beautiful. You can take dollar store flowers and make them look so expensive! Thank you for the inspiration.
Awe thanks Corine. I think some of Dollar Tree’s stems are nice and some not so much. ha!
Wreaths are so expensive, so it’s nice to see one made on a budget. Very pretty, Terrie!
Thank you Ann. Yes they are, when I look at the ones for sale I am like WHAT??? Crazy.
Terrie I love this wreath! So pretty and the colors while summery ( is that a word?) are so cool and soothing. Great job. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Tammy. I love my blue!
