Welcome back to my home! Today I created an affordable tablescape and guess what? It is all purchased from the Dollar Tree. I want to share with you how you can have a beautiful table on a budget.
I am joining in with 3 blogging friends to create a Christmas tablescape using items from the Dollar Tree. Below I will list my friends links for you to go visit their tables. It will be fun to see all the ways you could make a Holiday table on a budget.
As always I will start with a bare table. I will show you just how easy it is to set a table from the beginning.

Let’s get started!
I am starting with two table runners. Dollar Tree has several colors. Since my kitchen is copper and gold I chose the golden color.
I placed the runners on the table going across each place setting.
Next I purchased a new charger plate that Dollar Tree just started carrying. I love the looks of this charger. It is more sturdy than the normal chargers you find.
I grabbed my dinner and salad plate I purchased last year for my Christmas tablescape. You can go {{HERE}} to view my 2017 Christmas Tablescape.
I haven’t seen Dollar Tree carry linen napkins in a long time so I created some by purchasing placemats that coordinates with the table runner.
I purchased two placemats to match the runners.
I took the placemats apart at the seams. Now I have 4 pieces, I stitched up the edges.
I tri-folded them and placed the napkins on each salad plate.
I purchased a roll of Christmas greenery garland and cut 4 pieces to make a mini wreath shape.
I wrapped it twice around.
I spotted these beautiful snowflake tealight holders. I placed them each in the center of the wreath.
I love how they look.
You could add a tealight candle or a battery operated candle.
I added my DIY Dollar Tree Tier Tray to the center of the table. If you missed the tutorial on how I made the tray you can go {{HERE}}.
Added my 4 green stem glassware to each place setting.
I grabbed a bunch of little odds and ends to place in my tray.
I used the left over greenery, ornaments, gold mini Christmas tree, two copper gift boxes and a believe ornament. I also found two little gold reindeer. I decided to paint them copper to stay with my color scheme.
Added my items to the tray.
Here is my Dollar Tree Christmas Tablescape.
When I spotted the copper gift boxes I had to pick them up.
The Believe ornament had a red bow which I changed to a ribbon that Dollar Tree had to match my colors.
Here are all the items I used on my table.
- 2 table runners
- 2 placemats
- 4 antique gold chargers
- 4 each dinner plates and salad plates
- 4 green stemware

- Snowflake tea light holders
- gold and cream ribbon
- 2 packages of battery operated tealights or tealight candles
- Gold Christmas tree – also specialty item, you could use pinecones

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
Love the gold accents! I’m doing a gold and red table and have the same Dollar Tree chargers. So fun to create tablescapes!
I am loving the gold with the polished copper. Can’t wait to see your table and how you styled it.
Your table looks so elegant! I love the color pallet and those little deers are so pretty!
I love how you displayed everything on your 2 tiered centerpiece tray! Beautiful Terrie!
Thank you so much Maria! I hope all is well with you and your family. Thanks again for stopping by my sweet friend!
Terrie, this is so full of beautiful shine and glimmer! It’s just golden and bright like all Christmas things should be! You are just so creative my dear! Good job!
Thank you my sweet friend! I really thought it would be difficult to pull off everything Dollar Tree, but honestly it was very easy and so much fun. Thank you again for your kind words!
Love it, Terrie! I wish my Dollar Tree would carry that style of chargers but mine only has the basic ones yet. I think I may end up ordering some of the ones they have online! Love your tablescape! Very cute!
Thank you Tara! I saw them once before but when I went back to grab them they were sold out, so when they had them in stock I snagged them. When I went online the other day I saw that the Dollar Tree has so many different styles, more so than our store carries. Might just have to order some myself. Thanks for stopping by!
Terrie I’m so in love with your tablescape!!! That’s so amazing what you did with the deer figurines, diy mini wreaths, and those diy matching napkins!!!
Thank you NJ. I wished Dollar Tree would start carrying linen napkins like they once did. That was the only thing I had trouble with, but I made it work. Those little deer, I wished I would of picked up more when I was there, now they are sold out. ugh! Thank you for stopping by sweetie!
Terrie,
You have so many cute and creative ideas! I love that you used placemats for napkins! And, I love the tiered tray!! Such a lovely tablescape!!

Thanks Emily. I had a lot of fun planning this challenge with you. Your table by the way is beautiful. I pinned a lot of your inspiration to create for myself. You are so kind and thanks again for stopping by!
I love how you used everything! You did an amazing job decorating you would never know these are dollar items. Beautiful work!
Thank you for your sweet words Cate. I thought it would be a very difficult challenge but the only thing that I struggled with was the napkins. I remember Dollar Tree use to carry linen napkins. Oh well I think I made it all work. Dollar Tree does carry a lot of items to make your table look pretty. Thanks for stopping by Cate!
