If you have been around for a while you know by now I don’t buy much that I don’t change the appearance of. Today’s blog is no different. When I saw my friend’s Emily’s LeCutivateur entryway blog she transformed the Dollar Tree village, I fell in love! I went right out and grabbed me all the styles they had. I wanted to add Christmas villages in my Christmas dining room.

I didn’t want to paint over the signs so I used painters tape and covered over that area.
Using Rust-oleum spary paint I gave all the villages and the one tree a coat of off white paint.
It wasn’t 100% covered which is fine because I am doing something else to them anyway. I just wanted to give them a white base.
I grabbed my pink, white and rose gold paint and mixed my own little custom color of blush.
Took a fine tip paint brush and painted the villages a soft pink.
I did take my rose gold paint and painted the little church bell, edges of the roof and the little eves above the windows, I wanted to give it a little highlight.
Next I took my mod podge and iridescent glitter, I applied the glue and glitter to the roofs and areas that I left white.
Using cotton balls and mod podge, I wanted to create a look of snow on the roof tops and trees.
Don’t they look adorable?
I took the Dollar Tree battery operated tea lights and placed in the bottom of each village.
Fits perfectly!
Here is how I am styling the Dollar Tree Christmas villages.
I just love how my makeover Christmas villages turned out. Don’t you think they look pretty darn good for one dollar each?

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
So gorgeous!!! amazing what a little paint and creativity will do!
You are correct Cate a little paint can really changes a dull, old or even new items to fit your home decor. I never am afraid to paint something because in the long run….it’s just paint. ha! have a great day!
I like how you displayed them in your hutch. I have this little village set up in my living room. The kids were so excited when they saw them.
I love this Terrie! So cute, so creative, and so clever. Simply darling my friend!
