Just a couple more days and we will be celebrating July 4th.  I have one more cute little Dollar Tree red, white and blue DIY décor piece to share with you.  While I was in Dollar Tree I spotted these cute little wooden house frames.  I didn’t know what I would do with them at the time, but I picked them up just because I knew I could use them for something cute !!

• 3 wooden house frames from Dollar Tree

• red, white and blue Waverly Chalk Paint

• Waverly red material

• star navy ribbon

• star stencil

• Mod Podge

Here’s my tutorial on how to make the cute DIY décor piece.

Taking the tallest of my house shapes and the material, I traced the house onto the fabric.  I cut on the lines and freyed the ends. To see how I fray material you can check out how I do that FRAY MATERIAL.   Sitting the cut out material to the side for now.

Taking all three houses and removing the stickers.

I painted the two taller homes white and the shorter house Ocean.

After the paint dried I took the tallest house and applied the material with Mod Podge.

I took the stencil and the navy house and stenciled stars along the top of the house.

I dry brushed some ocean paint to the white painted house.  I made an oval shape with the white chalk paint in the center of the blue house.

 

I used a thin paint brush and blue paint and made an inner outline and two circles in the white oval shape.

Adding a red star on the white house.  Using the same stencil with the larger star I stenciled in with the red paint.

I free handed U S A inside the oval shape on the blue house.  I connected the houses together with hot glue.

It’s a cute little piece you can style any Patriotic holiday.
