Good Morning Friends! I know ANOTHER Blog so soon….well my daily DIY was way too long for it to be posted on our Facebook page. I thought I would make it a little bit better on my blog today.
I know that we have done a Poinsettia bow before, but this one is another type and is SO easy. It would make a great gift package addition to the basic looped bow that I showed you how to make HERE.
Let’s get started.
The supplies you will need:
- wire ribbon
- wired tinsel
- scissors
- ruler
- floral wire
Directions:
Cut Five 8″ strips of ribbon.
Stack the 5 strips one on top of the other.
Cut each end to a point.
Take one strip at a time and fold in half, long ways.
Take each halves and fold down on each side.
Keeping them pinched between your thumb and finger. Do that to all 5 strips. Adding to the ones between your thumb and fingers.
When you get all 5 folded. Grab your floral wire and take a piece and wrap it around all 5 petals. I kept a little extra wire for attaching.
Set that aside. This part you could use anything that you want. More wire ribbon cut shorter in a different color, the inside part of a silk poinsettia or what I am doing.
I am using wire tinsel. I purchased this from Dollar General after Christmas last year. I purchased a lot of different colors because this stuff is great for making bows or attaching items to garland.
To make little loops. I made a loop and twisted the loop to secure it. I made three twisted loops leaving an end to wrap around my flower.
Take the end that you left and wrap it around the petals.
Fluff out each petal and shape into a poinsettia.
This is what it should look like.
You could make several of these and make a boutique or place them in garland. You could do so many things with them.
I used this one on a package. I used the same ribbon and made a loop bow.
I took the extra wire and attached it to the center of the looped bow. Blending and shaping to the look I am wanting.
I placed my package under my tree. I LOVE this look. What do you think? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks for coming over and letting me share with you my Poinsettia bow. This is another cute idea for ribbon. I think!
Stay Strong and Stay Blessed!
