It’s time to get outside and start decorating for fall!  Today, Tammy Patina and Paint and I will be decorating our back porches.  First, I need to make a centerpiece to sit on our coffee table.

 

I am apologizing now, the supplies I am using in my centerpiece are things I had for many years.  But, if you like the centerpiece and would like to create one for your coffee table inside or out, keep on reading.  I showed the steps I took to make one.  Use your favorite fall stems and picks to make it your own.

The coffee table out on the porch is a rectangle shape so I am using a medium size narrow container.  My container has floral foam glued inside.  You could make a budget friendly container by following the simple tutorial to make an origami box.  How neat would this be?

Adding some type of lighting in my arrangement, I went with a Dollar Tree votive candleholder.  I carved out the shape of the bottom to nestle my holder into the foam, this creates a tight fit and securely holds the candleholder in place.

I filled in with the leftover foam around and on top of the candleholder.

First stem will be a tall grass like stem.  I removed the stems from the bundle.

To the container, I added three stems: one in the center and one to each corner.

Next are wheat stems.  I purchased different colors of wheat at the Dollar Tree.  I cut them singly off the bundle.

 

Stuck them into the foam evenly in the container.

OK, I know this looks like a hot mess, but stay with me, it will get better!

I grabbed some corn husk picks.  No telling where I got them.  I did add picks to them to stick down in the foam.

As the other picks, I placed the husks evenly in the container.

To fill the gaps, I used pieces of leaves and stuck them around the edge of the container.

I also had this bundle, I cut off the stems and inserted them into the arrangement.

To give a theme to the arrangement I added two fall picks with pumpkins.

To finish it off I placed a battery-operated votive candle into the holder and call it done!

For the coffee table arrangement, I went with a nature type arrangement, and I think this one is what I was aiming for.

I pulled out all the yellow fall decorations and pillows for the back porch.
