Hello Friends! Today I am excited to take you on the tour of our guest bathroom.
First, we will take a look at the photo of the room 5 years ago.
Our cabinets are the same as the other rooms we toured. The mirror is just that basic contractor’s grade. Look how dark those walls are!
Let’s move forward 2 years.
With Mr. Tip’s help we started working on framing our mirror. HERE is the website that we watched to learn how to frame ours.
I painted the cabinet and frame black with some distressing. That was my first time painting a cabinet. If you missed my blog on how I paint furniture you can go read about it HERE .
We removed the vinyl flooring and replaced it with ceramic tile. That was our first tiling job EVER! I wanted a little design in the flooring, I came up with the pattern, Mr. Tip just shook his head and said, “it just can’t be simple with you, can it?” NOPE! He did a fantastic job cutting the tile.
Here is what our bathroom looks like today.
I painted the cabinet and mirror frame with Benjamin Moore Advance, Dove White.
The ceiling light I found for only $5 at a thrift store. It was still in the box. The vanity light I found in Home Depot.
I placed two floating shelves above the toilet. Purchased the shelves at Lowe’s.
I purchased the shower curtain on Amazon, but I found the same one at Kohl’s for anyone of you that want to shop this look.
I attached an old doily on some scrapbook paper and placed it in the frame. If you are interested in finding a frame like this one. I found one similar at Michael’s.
On the vanity I place a DIY candle holder. I found a glass vase from a thrift store for $1 (you can buy a vase from the Dollar Tree which might be a bit smaller but would work just fine). I purchased one of Dollar Tree’s glass candle stick. I used E6000 to the top part of the candle stick (where the candle would be placed) and placed the candle stick to the bottom part of the vase. Let that dry. I placed bath salt in the vase and a candle. A very easy DIY. I purchased a guest hand towel container at Wal-mart and glued some bling wrap from Dollar Tree. I placed a monogram hand towel in the towel ring to make that side complete.
Thanks for stopping by I appreciate your visits. I hope you continue to come back!
Stay strong and stay blessed!
Terrie
Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
