Hello friends! Hope this finds you doing good.
I did tell you that I am going to be in a Valentine’s Blog Hop February 1st didn’t I? That being said you will see a lot of Valentine’s crafting from me. I have to get my decorations lined up for the big day! Since we are doing our blog hop before Valentine’s maybe you will get an inspirational push to put out a little love decor for Valentine’s.
Today’s blog I am so excited to share with you how I made this heart shape ribbon wreath. It was a lot of fun making it.
Let’s get started.
What I used:
- A piece of foam board or something to make your heart form.
- scissors
- pen
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- stapler and staples
- ribbon ( I used several)
- heart jewels
- battery operated lights
Most of everything was purchased from The Dollar Tree.
I made a heart template and traced it on the foam board. I made another heart inside using 1 inch from the outer heart. I cut both lines.
Now we need to cut the ribbons. I cut 12″ pieces. I just cut all the ribbon I had for this project.
I used 4 different thin ribbon. I made the 12 inch strips into a heart and stapled the loops together. I did this to all of the thin ribbon.
Now it is time to make my wreath.
I took the three wider ribbon and alternated the pink and the neutral burlap out. I placed the sheer ribbon on top of the burlap and tied it onto the heart. Do this until you have the board covered.
I found some thin crepe paper ribbon. I tied it in a not between the burlap ribbons.
I added my heart shape ribbon to the wreath. I hot glued each color on the crepe paper knot. I added a pink twine bow and a heart jewel.
I decided I wanted to add lights to my wreath. I grabbed my battery operated lights and placed them on the wreath.
Here is my wreath and the candles that I shared with my Facebook friends!
Can you tell that I glued the two together? Let me know what you think below in the comments.
This isn’t how I will be using my wreath or candles but like how they both look there! Did you check out my pink candle holders? They are book ends that I found years ago at a thrift store for $1.00. They use to be brown then turquoise…..and now pink. I just love spray paint!
Without the lights on.
Thank you for visiting me. I hope you enjoyed learning how to make a heart shape ribbon wreath. I will be displaying the wreath, candles and my heart and pom-pom garland February 1.
Have a great Thursday friends!
Stay Strong and Stay Blessed!
XOXO
Terrie
Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
