To answer many of questions I get when I decorate for a season, “where do you store all your decorations?”  Well, today I am going to share how I organize, put away and store all of my Fall decorations.

I do have to admit, I have more than one home should have.  I have been accumulating for several years, which I don’t purge as I should.

My way of storing my Fall decor might not be perfect, but it works for me to where no decorations are broken or ruined the next season.

How I store my Fall decor

I gather all of my decorations in one space in sections from wreath, garlands, pumpkins, frames, pillows to throw blankets.

Garlands

First item I put away are my garlands.  I found using plastic wreath storage bags are a great way to store your garlands.

Not only do the wreath storage bag contains all of my garlands, it allows me to see what’s in the bag.

Wreaths

I also gather all my wreaths and add them to one of the storage bags as well.

I can hold all my wreaths and garlands in just two storage bags.

Florals and Stems

The next group I gather up is all my florals and stems.  I compact them and store them in a storage bag.  It is used for Christmas trees, but they are perfect to store your stems and florals.

The handles are a great way to store them, I place a long nail on the rafters in our attic and hang the bag by the two handles.

Comes 2 in a package.  I use the other one for my spring and summer stems.

Now I have my florals, wreaths and garlands all tucked away in their storage containers.

Faux Pumpkins

I put all my pumpkins into their storage containers.  I place them in three categories.  Light, medium and heavy groupings.  This gives me an easy way of to keep the tubs from being too heavy.

I wrap all of my pumpkins in either bubble wrap or plastic groceries bags.

Place the wrapped pumpkins into a rubber maid storage container.

I place an equal amount of light, medium and heavy pumpkins in each storage bin.

Frames

For all of my frames I place them neatly under a bed in one of our guest bedrooms.

Pillow covers and Throw blankets

My pillow covers and throw blankets I place in storage bags in one guest closets.

I have everything in their storage bins….

Now where do you put all the tubs?  I store them up in our attic.  We have a 3 car garage which up above the garages we have a floored attic that is lit.  The lighting isn’t the greatest, but here is a shot of my Fall storage area.

I hope this answer all of your questions. I am excited to say, I am pulling out my Christmas tubs and bringing them down! 🙂
