Yet, another makeover in the books!! I picked up this Easter bunny canvas last Fall on a clearance shelf in Kirkland’s. Even though it wasn’t my style, I picked it up.
Here’s what I did to turn a one lined bunny canvas to fit my style.
I first took the canvas, removed the corner protectors and removed the hardware from the back.
Detached the canvas from the frame by removing the staples.
I used brown paint to fill in the bunny’s body, staying in the lines.
To the slick spots of the canvas, I will add highlights and shading.
For highlights, I mixed off white with the brown.
Painted the raised area and blended it in with a stencil brush.
For shading, mixing black and the brown, applying it the same way.
Painting the inner ear with light pink. Used black and white for the eye.
For the carrot, I painted it pink and green.
For the tail, I used hot glue and a cotton ball.
Sanded the rough frame and stained it.
Attached the canvas with staples to the back of the frame.
Using a craft knife cutting the excess canvas from the frame.
And here is my bunny canvas.
This turned out to be the perfect bunny canvas for our Easter home now! I’ve been on a kick lately with makeovers for the Easter Season. I believe in giving a piece a chance to make it work in our home. I hope I inspire you in making some fit your home!
