PUMPKIN CARVING PARTY TABLESCAPE

Happy Almost Halloween!

I am teaming up with some talented bloggers on a Fall/Halloween Tablescape Tour.  I hope you are like I am and excited to see all the inspiration from my friend’s tables.  There’s oodles of ideas to inspire you!  I will list all of my friends down at the end of my blog.

Are you getting ready for some trick or treaters?  I wished I was.  We live in a rural area and we just don’t get any.  So…I decided to bring the fun over to our home a different way.  I invited 3 of my girlfriends over to carve pumpkins.  I want to share with you how I set up my table for a Pumpkin Carving Party!  Maybe this will be the first of many, who knows.

I hope you enjoy this table and maybe it will inspire you for next year’s pumpkin season.  Save this blog in your Pinterest feed!

Let’s get started!

Like always, starting with a bare table.  I am going to place down a white Dollar Tree plastic tablecloth so I can just throw it away when the party is over.

I want my table cloth to have a little cute scallop to the edge.  Folding the tablecloth in a triangle, taking a little bowl making my design and cutting it out.

I saved some newspaper to use as a place mat.

Placing a folded newspaper to each place setting.

I purchased cutting boards from Dollar Tree.  I added some ribbon to the handle.

Next I sat a pumpkin at each place setting.

I went on Google search and typed in pumpkin face print outs.  I found a bunch of cute faces.  Printed them out and sat at each place setting.

One day while in Dollar General, I was looking at their clearance shelves and stumbled on this little planter.  Right away I thought how cute this would be for my pumpkin table.

Adding the pumpkin to the planter looks so cute.

I added one to each place setting.

Now no pumpkin carving table would be complete without the proper tools.  I placed at each place setting:

  • carving knife and spoon – to carve the pumpkin
  • pen – to trace the face
  • rubber glove – to protect the scooping hand
  • sponge – to wipe off the pumpkin
  • wash cloth – for our hands
  • tea light – to place inside our pumpkins

I placed the glove, pen, sponge and the craving spoon and knife in the planter.  I rolled the wash cloth up and placed it on the cutting board next to the tea light.

I found these two pails at Wal-mart.  They are perfect to place in the center of the table to put all the seeds and insides of the pumpkin into.  I took a piece of chalk and wrote the word SEEDS on both of the chalk painted label.

Making name tags:

  • 4 mini pumpkins – I painted mine orange
  • 4 paper clips
  • ribbon
  • hot glue guns and glue sticks
  • piece of scrapbook paper
  • printed our names off

Take your paper clip applying a dab of hot glue and placing it on the stem of the pumpkin.  Adding a bow to the stem and place the name in the paper clip.

I added a little bowl with candy corn to each place setting.

Here is my Pumpkin Carving Tablescape.

    1. Laura, Thank you, Actually the table cloth was a little longer for my table so I thought to scallop the table cloth because it is harder to cut a straight line….now you know my secret. ha!

      Thanks again!

    1. Maria! Thank you for your sweet comments. You are so kind. I lucked out when I saw those little planters. They made a cute little holder for a pumpkin. Thanks for stopping by.
