I have had this cathedral frame for a long time, it’s time to give it an update to fit the style of our family room. I know it’s a simple change, however, I still feel the need to share it with you! 🙂
Here’s the frame I am talking about. You might remember seeing it in our home way back when.
Don’t you think giving it a new color is all it needs? Below are the steps of the simple process.
I gave it a quick sanding around the outer part of the frame, I also gave a light sanding on the inner frame and metal details.
I spray painted the metal details one coat with Rust-oleum Forged Hammered in the color Burnished Amber.
For this frame I am doing a two tone frame, so I stained the outer frame with Minwax in the color Special Walnut.
For the inner frame and metal part I painted with Waverly chalk paint in the color Plaster, just one light coat.
Taking a sanding block I distressed the painted part of the frame.
Wiped the frame with a damp cloth and that’s it.
Here’s the Before & After.
I will be sharing where I placed the frame soon!!

Stay strong and blessed! ♥
Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
Thank you so much!! I love a great before and after project. This one is one of my favorites.
Terrie I love how you added in the warm wood tones to your Cathedral frame. It totally changes up the piece and the before and after photos are amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Giving it a little change gave the piece a new look for sure. Thank you for visiting Tammy. Have a blessed day!
