Hello friends! First I want to wish my male readers a Happy Father’s Day!
We are hosting a dinner party Saturday night. I want to do something special for the fathers that will be around our table. That means it’s time to put away the florals and lace exchanging it for everything masculine. At first, I was puzzled on what to do. Each has their own interest, I didn’t want to do for just one or two of them, but for all of them. It seemed like a hard task, with a little imagination and Pinterest I found the right theme….. I can do this! So I got my design cap on and started working.
I am still in love with the napkins that I shared with you on Tuesday. Aren’t they just adorable? Did you come to visit my Tuesday’s blog on how I folded napkins into a shirt and tie? If you missed that you can go check out that blog HERE. Come back over when you’re done so you can see how they look with the rest of the table decor!
I would have to say that guys probably could care less what the table looks like, they typically want to know “when we gonna eat”?! But, I think they will appreciate having a table dressed just for them!
I am so excited to be sharing with you my Father’s Day tablescape! Maybe something or all of it will inspire you to set your table for the special men in your life!
Let’s get started!
Before I start, I like to push the chairs away from the table so I can move around the table with ease. Starting with a naked table! 🙂
Since I am having dinner I will be placing my DIY table protective cover over my table before I put the tablecloth on.
I had to smooth the protective pad out with a wet cloth and a low temp iron to remove the wrinkles from storing it.
I pressed my white table cloth and placed it on the table.
I took my linen neutral table runner and folded it in half and placed it in the center.
I grabbed my round neutral place mats and placed them on the table.
I am using my bamboo plate chargers to keep with the masculine theme.
We will be serving a chicken and rice dish so I am using my square plates that has a little more curve to them than a regular dinner plate.
To complete the layering I am adding my DIY shirt and tie napkins to the plates.
Building my centerpiece now. I am going to use some faux books to build my vignette. I moved them around until I found the best spot. 🙂
You know I love to add some greenery to just about everything.
Adding two glass cylinder vases with a candle inside, cutting off the cuffs from a thrift store dress shirt and wrapping around the vase.
I think it gives it a little masculinity!
I added a rolled up newspaper, magnifying glass, letter opener and a pen for accent pieces.
Adding a little conversational piece…not that my little dress shirt and tie napkins wouldn’t be enough, but on the little book I added two little boy’s dress shoes and added some greenery and flowers inside.
Now isn’t this just the cutest?! I purchased the little shoes at a thrift store for $1.99.
Here is the centerpiece all together. What do you think, am I mastering a masculine table or what?
Since I am serving rice with dinner I am adding little bowls with chopsticks to the table.
Adding the stem ware to the table.
and the flatware.
Let’s take a look at my Father’s Day table!
I always love giving our dinner guest a little party favor. It’s just a little fun gift. For the guys, a KitKat bar with a tag ” Take a BREAK it is your day, you deserve it! Happy Father’s Day” and for the girls, Sweet-tarts with a tag “Don’t be a TART be a sweetheart, it’s his day”!
I placed the favors in two baskets and placed them on each end of the table.
I hope you enjoyed my Father’s Day tablescape. I want to thank you for stopping by.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
