Let’s talk about the tray I am using first. I made the tray out of Dollar Tree items. To find the tutorial on the tray you can click here ⇒ DIY Dollar Tree Double Tiered Tray.
Craft #1 – Wooden Decorative Heart Decor
SUPPLIES USED:
- Two different size hearts – I cut mine out of scrap wood I had in the garage, but you can purchase wooden cut outs at any craft store.
- Two different patterns of scrapbooking paper – I pulled out two red patterns of my scrapbooking stash.
- Wallpaper paste or Mod Podge – I prefer using wallpaper paste.
- Black sharpie
- Paint the color of your choice – I am using red chalk paint.
- Embellishments to decorate the hearts – I am using black and white ribbon and red mini paper roses.
- Hot glue
- Trace around the hearts on to paper, cut the hearts out.
2. Paint the hearts on one side and all the edges. I am leaving my smaller heart as is.
3. Paste the cut out heart to the unpainted side of the hearts.
4. Once the paste dries, sand the edges of both hearts to remove the excess paper.
5. Draw a heart ½ inch from the edge with a black sharpie.
6. Embellish your hearts. I am using black and white ribbon and mini paper roses.
Aren’t they the cutest?
Craft #2 – Prayer Beads with Heart Pendant
SUPPLIES USED:
- 24 – 12 mm wooden beads
- Wooden heart
- Twine
- Red and white craft paint
- Black sharpie
- Paint 12 beads and the wooden heart red, the other 12 beads white.
2. When the paint dries string the beads with twine.
3. Tie the starting end of the twine to the heart making a knot.
4. Cut the other end of the twine about 4 inches from the last bead, tie the end with the twine between the 5th and 6th bead from the heart.
5. Decorate the heart with the black sharpie and white paint.
Craft #3 – Dollar Tree’s Bird House Revamp
SUPPLIES USED:
- 2 bird houses from Dollar Tree
- Dollar Tree hack saw
- White and black craft paint
- Wood filler
- Sand paper
- To cut off the roof’s edges and the bottom platform to be even with the sides of the house I used a Dollar Tree hack saw.
2. Filling in the gaps with wood filler, after the wood filler dried sand lightly until smooth.
3. Paint both houses.
4. Turning the houses to the back side, sketch windows and doors with a pencil. Using black craft paint fill in the windows and doors.
They turned out so cute. Birdhouses, who would of thought?
