I have a side table we keep on the back porch, since it isn’t an outdoor piece, the top has some water damage. Even though it has water damage it’s still a solid piece. Instead of replacing the whole top piece, I am going to camouflage the water damage. Let me show you how I did it.
To hide all the water bubbles, I am going to paint several layers. But first, I spray painted the edge trim with metallic bronze.
Then I gave it one coat to the center with ever better beige by Behr. Now you can really see all the water damage I am dealing with.
With a paint brush I tapped on several colors one by one until I got the look I wanted.
Here’s how it turned out.
I let the paint dry and then sealed it with two coats of polyurethane.
Ok, it doesn’t look all that pretty, but we just purchased new patio furniture and I was trying to mimic the top of the coffee table. What do you think?
It’s not a perfect match, but it did hide all the bubbles.
I am very happy with how my table turned out. We can use it for another season or more.
I will be sharing how the table looks with the other pieces I place on our back porch next week. Stay tuned!!
