Today on the Under $10 on the 10th, we are sharing how you can create something $10 or under for Christmas.   The blog hop is hosted each month by Tammy over at Patina and Paint.  At the bottom of my page, I will have all the blogger’s Christmas projects linked for you.

My craft today is so easy and wouldn’t cost you much at all.  I am making a Christmas pinecone swag for the laundry room, for those who want to make one for your home keep reading.

How to make a Christmas pinecone swag

The supplies you need:

  • 3 good size pinecones
  • wired ribbon
  • 3 pieces of faux pine sprigs
  • embellishments
  • scissors
  • hot glue and glue gun

First Step

  1. Measure out one piece of ribbon for your longest strip, add 6 inches to it.
  2. Second strip subtract 4 inches of your first strip.  (Total measurement after adding 6 inches)
  3. Third strip subtract 4 inches from your second strip.
  4. Fish tail all three strips on one end.

Second Step

Hot glue a point to the rough end of your ribbon.

Third Step

Glue the point side of the ribbon to the pinecone’s bottom.  Do this step to all three of your pinecones.

Fourth Step

Taking your sprigs of pine, glue one sprig to each pinecone.

Fifth Step

Embellish your pinecones.

Sixth Step

Tie all three strips of ribbon into one knot, leaving about 3 inches of ribbon above the knot.  (I cut my strips too short, so I don’t have the extra length).

Seventh Step

Make a pretty bow attach to the knot leaving the top fish tails sticking out over the top of your bow.

Last Step

Make a little loop for hanging your swag.

Hang your pinecone swag up and enjoy!!
