DINING ROOM REFRESH – BEFORE & AFTER

When I say refresh, I really mean nothing more than new area rug, new drapes and reupholster all of my dining chairs.

Just like the other rooms I have refreshed; I want our dining room to have the warm tones and cohesive feel as well.

Before I get started showing you the reveal of how our dining room looks now, let me show you how the room looked before the refresh.

If you are just reading about my dining room refresh today, you might want to go over to my dining room refresh plan blog post for the room HERE.

The very first thing I wanted to find was a new area rug.  I wanted the rug to carry a pattern and all the colors in the room.  I love the RUG I found on Amazon; it’s the anchor in the room. *The rug in the color I have is out of stock at this time.

I love how it gives the cohesive flow from the foyer into the dining room.  And the colors are perfect!

Then I brought my attention to painting a piece of furniture.  Originally, my plan was to paint the china cabinet in cracked pepper, but I decided not to paint the china cabinet.  Because… the fabric I covered the chairs with would bring too much of the same color.  I did paint the wine cabinet with cracked pepper to bring a little accent color into the room.

I shared the project previously on my blog HERE.  The new color looks stunning in the corner especially when you look from the other side of the dining room looking into the foyer.

Turning to the windows, I changed the drapes.  I found DRAPES on Amazon as well.  I purchased two sets of 108″ x 52″ in Khaki.

Another purchase off of Amazon was BATTERY OPERATED SCONCES.

I painted the lamp shade since they came with white shades.  I shared how I painted the shades on my social media.

For the china cabinet, I removed everything out of the cabinet and decorated with home decor, my china and stemware.  To view the full blog post of the styling my cabinet you can read HERE.

Last project was my chairs.  To watch me complete this project from beginning to end you can view it on my Facebook page.  HERE.

That’s the last of the projects.  I did clean good before I started, which means my spring cleaning is finished in this room.  Every little change made a huge difference.  I love how the dining room looks and feels.

Here again is the before look of our dining room.

I will be picking up room refreshes after my Decorate with Me Easter season.  I hope to get into our guest bathroom to bring a cohesive look in there as well.
