HOW TO DECORATE FOR FALL ON A BUDGET

Hello friends!

Fall is approaching which means for friends that love to decorate their homes for Fall we need to start preparing.  I gathered up some ways to decorate your home on a budget.  Wouldn’t it be so easy to just go out and buy what you need without a budget?  Boy…..that would be nice, but for me it is all about how to cut cost and make my home look like I didn’t have a budget at all.  Are you with me?

Here are some helpful tips I did to keep the cost down while decorating my home for Fall this year.

Tip One:

Dollar Tree Pumpkins

There’s no secret on how much I love using the Dollar Tree’s pumpkin.  They are very affordable and so easy to dress up.  One thing I like to do is give them a makeover.  I like tweaking the pumpkins to fit my style.  Using craft or chalk paint for under $1.00 at Wal-Mart or the Dollar Tree ribbon you will have a nice pumpkin decor that fits your home’s decor.  This is not something you have to do, it is just what I like to do.  If you missed my tutorial on how I made the ribbon pumpkin you can go HERE to watch.  To make the stems HERE.  To make the cloth pumpkin HERE.

Hopefully one of my DIY pumpkins catches your eye and you make one for your home.

By taking a ceramic Dollar Tree pumpkin I gave it a little boost of spray paint.  I created a cute little table setting for my Fall table last year.  To see my whole Fall tablescape you can go HERE.

Tip Two:

Outside items

This tip is absolutely free.  By going out in your yard or neighbor’s yard (with their permission of course) 🙂  Gather some sticks and pine cones to use in your home for a touch of Fall, this is a great way to save money.  You could go out and buy the sticks or pine cones, but why when you have them all for free outside.  I always add some sealer to mine, just because I am crazy. 🙂  If you don’t like the color ….spray paint them!

I gathered a few sticks from my yard and placed them in a vase with some pumpkins to create a little arrangement to place on my vanity in our half bath.

I went over to my neighbor’s yard and picked up some pine cones and placed them with some white pumpkins that I painted in a bowl along with some greenery.

Tip Three:

Pillow Covers

Adding a Fall throw pillow is a very inexpensive way in adding Fall to your space.  You can purchase pillow covers less than $5 on Amazon or waiting until after season when you can find them on clearance.  If you sew, you can make your own pillow covers with seasonal fabrics.

I purchased this pillow cover on Amazon for under $2.00 and slipped my everyday pillow inside.  If you are interested HERE is the site to order the pillow cover.

Tip Four:

Set The Table

Now I know some of you can not decorate your table like I do because you just don’t have time removing it every time you use it.  Having a pretty Fall centerpiece wouldn’t be that troublesome, would it?   This gives your table a little touch of Fall.

To create this centerpiece, I used a glass vase, candle, a Dollar Tree fall pick, 3 votive cups and a pumpkin.  Very easy and inexpensive to create and look how pretty it becomes on my table?

Tip Five:

Making Decorations

One of the low cost Fall decoration would be making it yourself.  Making your own decoration is a great way to get the high end decor piece for a few dollars.  And too you can custom the decor to your own liking.

One decor piece I created was very simple and cost nothing because I had everything on hand.  Remember the buffalo plaid bottle I painted on an old wine bottle?  You can check out how I painted the bottle HERE.

How about making your own Fall acorn decor?  You can go check out how I made them HERE if you missed my tutorial.
