I’m not sure how you will react to my blog post today. The girls and I are starting our Fall decorating, first room is the kitchen. So, welcome to our Fall Season 2023 | Decorate with Us. I will have the other girl’s links at the bottom of my page.
I want to be completely honest with you, I am having a hard time getting started with the Fall decorating. I just didn’t know how I wanted to decorate the kitchen, let alone the rest of our home. So, when it came to decorating the hutch, I was stumped. I removed everything off the hutch cleaned it and then stared at it for the longest time.
I needed a piece to give me the theme of the hutch. I looked at all of my Fall frames and decided to use the frame I purchased in Kirkland’s a couple years ago.
There it is, my motivation, I just needed one piece to get me rolling. I placed the large vase back in its place because it was a good fit color and size wise. I began placing things with color, texture and theme throughout the top shelf.
Along with the vase I added two pumpkins, a DIY terracotta pumpkin I painted last year and a buffalo check cloth pumpkin I purchased from Kirkland’s a couple of years ago. I also placed a fall pick next to the buffalo check pumpkin.
To the other side I brought in the color orange in a neutral vase with ribbon tied around the neck. I used 6 bundles of Dollar Tree Bittersweet Orange bushes.
I added two of my brass candlesticks with Flameless Flickering Taper Candles for a touch of elegance.
On the middle shelf, I placed back the two wooden bowls, changed the dish towel and tucked a pumpkin inside.
To the side I placed a Fall foliage potted fake plant and a harvest jar candle.
To the other side, I added two signs, pumpkin sign was from Kirkland’s last year and the blessed buffalo check wooden sign from Hobby Lobby years ago.
To finish the middle shelf, I placed 4 stacked small orange plates I purchased last year in Hobby Lobby. On top of the plates, I sat a potpourri holder with pinecones and a few Fall stems.
That completes the middle shelf.
The last part of my hutch would be the top of the cabinet. As you might expect, I kept my tray on the cabinet. It’s a staple piece on my hutch no matter what season I decorate for.
I found my tray in Tj Maxx but I did find a similar one on Amazon. (Amazon Tray) I normally fold three coordinating dish towels inside the tray, to add color mostly and the beads for texture. I also like using a cutting board for a wood tone backdrop.
This Fall I added a DIY mini leaf wreath and a wooden pumpkin sign I found in Dollar General last year.
To the other side I placed another stack of Hobby Lobby small plates topped with a small creamer, I tucked in a Fall pick. Placing my Blessed container back in place.
I am calling my hutch decorated for Fall!! What do y’all think about it??? I kicked myself in gear and excited to start the other part of the kitchen now. I hope this gave you a little inspiration to add in some Fall decor to your home!

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
