Today is the 10th of the month which means it’s the Under $10 on the 10th. In this blog hop we share how you can create something $10 or under.   The blog hop is hosted each month by Tammy over at Patina and Paint, the theme of today’s blog will be Fall.  At the bottom of my page, I will have all the blogger’s Fall project linked for you.

I went into Dollar General for cleaning items, Ajax and Murphy Oil Soap when I was stopped at the Fall aisle looking at all their home Fall decor.  Wow!  They really stepped up their game this year.  I honestly go into Dollar General more often now since the Dollar Tree has raised their prices.  You can still find some really cute items at Dollar General for a dollar.  So, for my under $10 item I am sharing my little find and how I dressed it up a bit to make a cute Fall decor.

Easy Dollar General Fall Arrangement Upgrade

This little bushel basket arrangement has a lot of potential, you could do so much to make this even a more beautiful arrangement.  For mine, I am going to do a simple upgrade.

I took out my Antique Wax and a baby wipe and applied the wax to the basket.  This gives the basket a rich color, for me I like a little more finish look.

Just add a little wax to the baby wipe and wipe it right onto the planter.

Go as dark as you want by applying as many coats until you get the look you want.  I applied one coat to mine.

Now, to do something with the arrangement itself.  It has good bones it just needs some filler.

To keep it cost friendly I am using just 6 strands of raffia and some cut off stems I had saved from another project.

What I did was folded the strand of raffia, added the stem to one end and wrapped floral wire around both to make a little raffia pick.

Placing my 6 raffia picks around the edge of my arrangement.

Moving around the picks to mix up the colors until I was totally happy with the arrangement.

I pulled out the stem from the arrangement and placed it in a different part of the container.

Yes, that’s better.

I found the little wooden pumpkin also in Dollar General for $2.

What do you think of my $10 purchase from Dollar General?  I can’t wait to add this setting to my Fall family room.  Oh, and better yet, if you wait until Saturday and spend a certain amount of money in Dollar General you get a percentage off of you purchase.

Go over and check all of the girl’s Fall items they are sharing today.
