Happy Tuesday! Today I have a special little DIY for you! Before I get to my DIY I need to mention that this is our monthly Pinterest Challenge, this challenge is hosted by Erlene with My Pinterventures. Pinterest is a great place for all of us to go and check out home décor, recipes, DIYs, crafts and so much more. Today I am in a group of talented bloggers sharing our version of some inspiration we found on Pinterest. To view my previous Pinterest challenges you can catch up PINTEREST CHALLENGES. I want to share a little DIY with you that I came across on Pinterest several years ago. It is so easy and so adorable I think you are going to love it! If not you should, right? My inspiration came from Farah Merhi over at Inspire Me Home Decor. She is a You-tuber, we all pin her videos on our Pinterest accounts because she is so inspiring. She made this tissue dispenser and I fell in love with it. Here is her link on the tutorial for hers. How To Make Your Own Tissue Paper Dispenser.

Do you have something like this sitting around your home?
Even with the decorative box it isn’t very attractive sitting there. So here is a solution to display a pretty Kleenex dispenser.
Here is what you will need to make your own Tissue Paper Dispenser
- Glass cylinder, large enough to fit your hand inside to add and remove Kleenex
- hot glue and glue sticks or E6000 (for a more permanent hold)
- scissors or wire cutters
- Embellishments for decorating your dispenser
This is what I have on my glass cylinder now.
I am using hot glue because it is easier to remove the embellishment without damaging the container or the jewel. I plan on changing my embellishment for the seasons so using hot glue is something I need to use, but if you want yours to be permanent I would use something strong like E6000.
I bought this fun owl and some leather string at Hobby Lobby. (All was 50% off). I am also going to use a piece of a faux branch.
I took a long piece of the leather rope and wrapped it around my container three times. Hot gluing little dabs to keep the string from slipping.
I snipped a piece of the twig to place in the center of the string.
I took the owl jewel and removed all the jewelry rings and hot glued the feet to the body.
I hot glued the body, head and tail to the container and added another short piece of rope in front.
Placed the Kleenex in the container, making sure the split side of the tissue was folded facing each other.. Sat my dispenser back on the table.
Its a fun project that you can put your own personal touches too. Save this on your Pinterest project boards until you get the supplies to make one for your home. I hope you enjoyed this little tissue dispenser tutorial.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
