Hello my friend! How are you? I hope this finds you having a great Wednesday so far! Sorry this is so late. I had a busy morning.
I have been busy decorating the last few rooms. Hopefully, I will be done by Friday with the inside of the house. The Family room is the largest and the longest to decorate. I am exciting on sharing that room with you on Friday. With my new painted fireplace (if you are new to my blog you can go HERE to view my fireplace makeover) my Christmas mantle decorations will be so pretty.
Today I wanted to show you how I use acrylic water in an arrangement. I will share with you one that I am making for my master bedroom during the Christmas season. The hardest steps are making sure you don’t get too many air bubbles and how you want your flowers to be placed in your container.
I always start with a clean glass container. I like using a clear container to show the water, but you can use any color.
Here is the supplies I am using to create my arrangement.
- Acrylic water – I purchased mine at JOANN Fabrics. Wal-mart and Hobby Lobby use to carry it, but I have a hard time finding it.
- A large silk Christmas flower and a pine greenery stem
- scissors
- wire cutters
- plastic cup – I am using a red solo cup
- stir stick – I am using part of the stem that I had to cut off my pick
You will want to see how your flowers sit in your container. Depending on your stems you might need to cut or shape them. This would be the time to do that before you mix your Quick water.
My stems are too long for the look I am going for. I will have to cut mine. I put my two stems together with a floral wire. I wanted a bundle look.
First thing you will want to do is take your container and clean it really good. You want it to be sparkling.
Take your acrylic solutions out of the box. * You will want to follow the directions off of the brand you purchase * Quick Water brand (I am using)the directions says to pour Bottle A into a plastic container and then pour Bottle B. Stir gently making sure you swipe the sides occasionally. Stir for about 2 minutes.
TIP: Pour slowly each bottle into your plastic container so you don’t form air bubbles. You will have some small air bubbles but they should settle and pop while it sets up.
After you have mixed the solutions well (about 2 minutes), place your vase somewhere out of the way so it can sit without moving or disturbing for 24 to 36 hours.
Pour the mixture into your clean vase.
TIP: Make sure you do not splash or get the solution on the sides of your container.
Place your floral stems in the water the way you want them. Don’t be moving the water a lot. That will cause air bubbles.
Let it sit to form. Remember do not move or disturb for 24 to 36 hours.
That’s how simple it is. What do you think?
Now, let’s go into my Master Suite to see how I decorated the rooms for Christmas.
Some of you that follow me on Facebook I told you that I ordered some pillow covers a while ago. Well….when ordering online you don’t know the true color. There are several different shades of red! One CON about ordering online and not in person. But I think it all looks fine.
Let me tell you about my tree first.
The color as you can tell is red and white. The tree is 6 foot. I bought several of my bedroom trees one year after Christmas at a store called Fred’s here in our city. Purchased each tree for $10.00. Pre-lite I might add.
I used a polka-dot ribbon, the topper is a large looped bow, I placed several single loops all over the tree, 7 pine and red berry pick and the ornaments are silver, white and red.
Now lets move toward the side tables.
On my table I placed the DIY floral arrangement and a red candle.
On my husband’s side I placed a single red cone shape Christmas tree.
Let’s move to the bed.
I folded my red duvet and placed it at the foot of the bed (I purchased this duvet set 10 years ago or so at a store called Stein Mart). If you want something similar HERE is a Christmas red they carry this year.
The white bedding duvet I purchased that on Ebay. I love my everyday set so much that I wanted to keep the look but change the embroidery color. HERE is one on Amazon that is just like the one I bought on Ebay.
The 3 Euro snowflake shams, two small snowflake pillows, the Believe pillow, and the throw blanket all from Amazon.
My little tray I added a deer. On his scarf I placed one of my faux diamond studded earring to it to give it some bling.
At the foot of the bed to one side I placed a Christmas pail with some large pine cones.
Moving now to the dresser.
I placed some red velvet poinsettias in the tall ginger jar. I placed my DIY scarfed deer next to the ginger jars.
I shared with my Facebook friends how I made the little DIY scarf for all of my deer that I placed in my home. One hat did all my deer.
Now to the opposite side of the bed.
I added two red candles to my candle holders, a red spindle decor piece, Santa figurine and a Noel word on top of my TV armoire.
I placed my little chair with a pillow on the side of the chest.
On top of the chest I placed the other deer that matches the one of my dresser, a candle and a silver Christmas tree.
To tie in the Master Bathroom I added some red monogram towels and some red candles to the candle holders. I placed some Christmas scrap paper along with an ornament to the little side frames.
Here is our Master bedroom one last time.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
